I wanted a very basic surgical kit for emergency use. There are several on the market that vary in price from around $2o to $60.... unfortunately they all look very similar in the pictures, but apparently the quality varies significantly, making a choice difficult online.

This kit will absolutely work in an emergency, but the quality is average and looks like a lot of the instruments were hand made/finished rather than machine finished. The retention elastic straps are poorly and inaccurately sewn into the case.

More suited to a lab/biological project than working on people IMHO... I guess you get what you pay for, and this offers reasonable value for the $25 I paid.

This kit is unsuitable to camping, hiking, bug out, unless you buy it for the blades, sutures, maybe tweezers and a hemo or two. The pouch it comes with is all the more reason child labor should not be utilized (will not hold tools properly, stitching is crooked etc) the pen light is also useless. Realistically, the low cost is offset by what is actually usable in this kit.

I bought this to suppliment a first aid kit and it fits the bill nicely. Good value for the money. I purchased this kit in lieu of an expensive one produced by a medical supplier as I didn't want to pay a lot of money for what I hope never to use. I have faith it will do the trick in a pinch.
