Book Description

January 5, 2008
Note: This book contains graphic violence, illicit drug use, non-consensual extreme sex, and potentially offensive material given the religious references.
Pontius Pilate is cursed to be a vampire. Life after life after life.

PILATE is a drug lord vampire in this re-telling of Christ's final days. When given yet another chance to save the Earth's latest Christ, will the re-incarnated Pilate choose to protect Her, or will he wash his hands once again.
Be warned: The Harbor is wicked. The violence is graphic. The sex is brutal and the terror is palpable. PILATE is not your parents' bible story....

Review

Sick Sick sick my kind of book!

Filled with sex and violence that'll keep you turning the pages. With a vampire feasting on an embryo and many other dreadful acts you have to check out.
--Kipp Poe Speicher "Kipp Poe Speicher" (Canton, Ohio)

Step Aside, Passion Of The Christ!
Rage does not down play the evils of today, and he re-enforces the fact that there is no good without evil (and vice-versa) in this thrilling tale.
--A. A. A. (Illinois, U.S.A.)

Brutally Good
Compound street violence and mega-violence of the most extreme horror variety and you get a story that any horror fan would eat up. I highly recommend it.
--W. D. Hanson "AKA Ichorous" (Clarksburg, MD USA)

vivid, explicit, inventive and engrossing...with fangs on it!
Rage blatantly gawks at the darker side of our modern world and draws biblical parallels...using vampires. He mixes respectable dark poetic prose.
--D. Gorman "Crystalline Structure Moon"

Worth getting your hands dirty for!,
Rage forces us to look at true sin, true villainy, and truly offensive images of alternative realities.

Rage creates a dismal post-industrial future, a look at man defiled and in decline. Evil has arrived. Dominion has been taken by those who walk as the damned, demons, halflings, products of debauched rampages and sins against nature. Sex, drugs, and broken souls are the only things of value. Life is more like a disease, and the only salvation is the right amount of Plata to numb the conscience and, if one is lucky, to bring on a cleverly disguised demise. Through the sheer shock of his presentation, Rage forces readers to consider the alternatives, to look at the garbage in the streets, to see what is swept into the gutters at night right before all decent people awake to see another cleaned up version of the day. He uses tradition to break tradition, to push the imagination in ways that are uncomfortable at the least and border on the offensive at worst. Yet, in doing so, he illustrates what real Love is.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you like reading about Black Ghetto crime and drugs, this is for you., July 3, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PILATE: A Brutal Bible Tale (Paperback)
I bought this book based on the fantastic reviews; but was soon very disappointed in the interpretation of the crucifiction.
It is mostly black ghetto talk about shorties and niggas and it lost me and was not what I was expecting. I couldn't connect with the characters. I found that the author was jumping about with dialogue and people and it was hard to follow who was saying what and lost it's appeal for me.
I didn't feel there was any fluidity of events as it seemed all over the map.
I didn't connect with anything, or any character particularly the character portraying Christ!
I skimmed the last half of the book since I knew the ending of course, but was VERY,VERY tired of reading about niggas and 9mm.
I see enough of it on the daily news and this seemed more of the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not soon forgotten, March 16, 2008
This review is from: PILATE: A Brutal Bible Tale (Paperback)
This brilliant alteration of biblical accounts into a modernized tale of drugs, death and deception is not for the easily offended or faint of heart. With graphic scenes of violence, sex and torture Steven Rage has given us a view of Christ's final days had he lived in our modern world. His unique cadence and elaborate descriptions vividly animates every aspect of his writing. Whether offended or captivated, whoever reads this book will not soon forget it.
