Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Before the advent of the video game, pinball tables ruled the juke joints, pool halls, and arcades. Pinball Hall of Fame highlights some of the best pinball tables famed maker Gottlieb produced during pinball's heyday.

In an arcade setting, choose from one of seven different pinball tables. Each table shows how the pinball table design evolved from 1957 to 1993. Each table sets a goal for you to accomplish. If you meet the goal, a bonus will unlock in Pinball Hall of Fame.

Unlockable bonuses include Tournament Mode, Payout Mode, a tour of the Gottlieb factory, and a few secret game options. Each table you play features a historical tidbit about the table and the original marketing flier produced by Gottlieb. Multiplayer action is alternating.

Most importantly, the pinball action is top notch and the ball physics are true to form. Some of the goals are quite hard to accomplish. At least you don't have to worry about spending all your quarters.

Features:

  • Faithful recreations of classic Gottlieb pinball tables
  • Unlockable modes and features
  • Realistic physics

Product Description

Pinball Hall of Fame was designed to capture the spirit of great pinball gaming. Working closely with pinball experts from the Pinball Hall of Fame, the developers created a fantastic pinball experience, with sights and sounds captured from actual tables. Multiplayer action for up to 4 people

This is a terrific collection of "classic" pinball tables made by Gottleib. Featuring 7 tables and one unlockable the pinball machines chosen represent a nice segement of the companies history. Each machine plays differently thanks to the thought that went into the variety of tables included. The graphics are tremendous with each table really coming to life, also incredible is the flipper control and ball physics which really feel like real pinball, the c- stick operated plunger feels right as do the R and L flipper controls although the tilt mechanism relegated to the main analog control is touchy. Each table has a goal that when reached unlocks an arcade game for that table, couple that with a few unlockable modes and historical data and instruction for each machine read by a narrator and you have an incredibly well rounded video game for pinball neophytes and experts alike. Recommended for those of us who don't have room for real pinball machines in our game rooms.
The following tables are included
Big Shot
Victory
Black Hole
Tee'd Off
Genie
Central Park
Aces High
Play-boy (unlockable)

This game is fun to play pinball, but since it is the Hall of Fame edition, they are all old tables. Nothing new and flashy or extreme. Not what I was really looking for. I think the free one that used to come with windows was more fun. Don't get me wrong, I've spent plenty of hours playing it though.

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as Williams version, September 28, 2009

I love pinball. The Gottlieb collection includes a couple of machines I played when they were originally available. The tables and sounds are expertly recreated. The problem is the gamecube controller doesn't have the right feel. The physics are pretty good, but the original tables didn't have the best flipper action. The Williams collection from the same company is truly outstanding. This is only for the most diehard enthusiast and even then is unlikely to get put in your wii very often.
