3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay
This game is fun to play pinball, but since it is the Hall of Fame edition, they are all old tables. Nothing new and flashy or extreme. Not what I was really looking for. I think the free one that used to come with windows was more fun. Don't get me wrong, I've spent plenty of hours playing it though.

This is a terrific collection of "classic" pinball tables made by Gottleib. Featuring 7 tables and one unlockable the pinball machines chosen represent a nice segement of the companies history. Each machine plays differently thanks to the thought that went into the variety of tables included. The graphics are tremendous with each table really coming to life, also incredible is the flipper control and ball physics which really feel like real pinball, the c- stick operated plunger feels right as do the R and L flipper controls although the tilt mechanism relegated to the main analog control is touchy. Each table has a goal that when reached unlocks an arcade game for that table, couple that with a few unlockable modes and historical data and instruction for each machine read by a narrator and you have an incredibly well rounded video game for pinball neophytes and experts alike. Recommended for those of us who don't have room for real pinball machines in our game rooms.
The following tables are included
Big Shot
Victory
Black Hole
Tee'd Off
Genie
Central Park
Aces High
Play-boy (unlockable)

I love pinball. The Gottlieb collection includes a couple of machines I played when they were originally available. The tables and sounds are expertly recreated. The problem is the gamecube controller doesn't have the right feel. The physics are pretty good, but the original tables didn't have the best flipper action. The Williams collection from the same company is truly outstanding. This is only for the most diehard enthusiast and even then is unlikely to get put in your wii very often.

Well this is not quite up to snuff as Williams collection for the Wii, obviously. Williams is a royal flush while Gottlieb is a full house. Looking at the fact this is on an older sytem (the Game Cube that I love... get Animal crossing on this system not Wii!) it holds up well. There are some issues with lower res graphics and the large sized score board in the top corner blocking the view. That can be fixed by shuting off the score after shooting the ball but it wont come back automaticly if you loose your last ball and need to see your final score, WHY!? All in all the physics are a bit weak but where else can you play these games? I am still hoping they bring the Wii version over from the UK. Meanwhile this will get you by. Oh, the controlls are a bother too... get a gamecube controller that has mapable buttons as it is tougher to push in the shoulder buttons quickly and forget about trying to bump the table as it will always tilt, until you can disable the tilt option. Gee, is this really a 4 after all??? Sure! Its worth all the trouble just for Genie! A true all time classic!
