PIONEER DVR-S606
I have used this unit extensively for the past 10 months. It has performed flawlessly while burning somewhere in the vicinity of 1400 DVDs... That is not a misprint...fourteen hundred DVDs... Have used mostly 4x dvd-r with a burn time average of 14min.10sec... Performs equally well with my Toshiba laptop as it does with the Sony Vaio desktop... Easily outperforms the...

completely useless
I installed it on 4 different computers. The advertising material claims that it writes to both the DVD-RW and DVD+RW (as well as CD) formats, but Windows (as well as the sticker on the back of the unit) insists that it's compatible only with CD/DVD-. The incompatibility issue ultimately didn't matter to me, because it didn't write to or read from ANY format on...

I have used this unit extensively for the past 10 months. It has performed flawlessly while burning somewhere in the vicinity of 1400 DVDs... That is not a misprint...fourteen hundred DVDs... Have used mostly 4x dvd-r with a burn time average of 14min.10sec... Performs equally well with my Toshiba laptop as it does with the Sony Vaio desktop... Easily outperforms the Sony 510 dvd+/-r internal in the desktop... The only disadvantage I have found is some of the 2x dvds only burn at 1x, but have have no problem with 4x discs in either plus or dash format... and yes, the DVD+r burn ed perfectly also

The incompatibility issue ultimately didn't matter to me, because it didn't write to or read from ANY format on ANY of the 4 computers. It also caused problems with pre-existing CD/CVD drives. Garbage. |
