PIPEROID is a paper craft robot designed and produced in Japan. The robot is made out of just five paper pipes with pre-drilled holes and marks to cut, fold, and connect the pipes without the need of glue or tape. All you need is a pair of scissors, and with minimal assembly you can bring your own PIPEROID to life!

My 9 year old son wanted these for christmas because he loves origami and robots, of course. I thought they were a little expensive and I was a little skeptical they would turn out exactly as pictured. I was wrong! These things are so cool. They come as paper tubes (like a pixie stick) that you cut up to the assorted sizes. The assemble together without glue or tape--it's really ingenious! My son did them all on his own and they look just like the picture. The joints are totally movable and they seem very sturdy. They are on the small size. The Bean character is probably 1.5" tall and Guyzer is maybe 3.5". We also got the Penk & Goriborg set and those are awesome too. I have no problem plunking down more money for different sets. They're cool and original.

Very cool robot-type figures made from folding paper. Way fun, and the directions are very easy to follow. Both of these figures can be built in about half an hour. Any of these packages are worth getting for an 8-12 year old kid. Or adult who likes these things.
