I am so glad, in a perverse way, to see other frustrated people out there searching for this exceptional...no, UNIQUE olive oil. I am both Italian and a pretty serious amateur chef all of my life so I've tasted hundreds of oils from all of the olive oil producing nations. All I can say is that there is something very special about this delicate and beautifully balanced oil that nothing else touches. You could almost drink it. Knowing that others are searching let's the producers know that there is a demand. And, where there is a demand, there is usually a supplier. Let's hope. And please do share, if you are able to find it. I will too. Good luck to us all!

I too, am trying to find this wonderful oil. Doing a little web research using the back label as a guide (yes, I still have an empty bottle!)I found it was produced by a company called astra-calve', which is now a subsidiary of the huge european food conglomerate Unilever. Guess which brand is one of Unilever's signature brands, right up there with Lipton?
Bertolli. Any wonder this oil is hard to get? If ANYONE gets a source for this , please share it with the rest of us.

James Plagniol was used by my mother exclusively and by me until about two years ago when I could not buy it any more. It is the best olive oil ever with a distinctive flavor unlike any other. I have found many queries on line from people trying to find out what happened to it. I wish someone could enlighten us. I would love to find it again. I miss using it - other olive oils just don't taste the same.

We 've used Plagniol olive oil (purchased from stores) for years, but were unable to find it lately.

I rate it very high.
