Product Description

Full alert at the Knights Empire Castle - the dragon knights have set out with heavy gear to storm the huge castle. Now everyone has to quickly make preparations against the attack: First, the drawbridge is pulled up and stones are stacked up to feed them through the opening above the castle wall and rain them down on the enemy. The villains trying to climb the wall are in for a suprise! The King quickly orders the guards to closely watch the critical spot at the breakthrough in the wall and check the trapdoor in the tower one last time. Now he can calmy retreat to the throne room together with his queen. He can always rely on his courageous knights and the perfectly secured castle.

Additional Information:(SystemX). Includes a trapdoor in the tower, and a drawbridge to protect against possible enemy attack. A functional hoist, king`s throne and prisoner`s dungeon are also included.

Great detail - December 25, 2006
This thing is great. Our 4 year old loves it. The working drawbridge, breakaway wall for cannon fire and trap door are great. Considering the size and number of pieces, it was remarkably easy to put together. Allow 2 to 3 hours for assembly, but the directions are excellent. Only complaint is that some of the small pieces that don't always want to stay together - some of the "details" will likely be missing after a few weeks. Overall, very happy with it!

Great Fun! August 2, 2009
By Jess
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I just bought this for my five year-old son. He loves it, and plays with it for hours at a time. Those who say it falls apart easily after 2-3 hours for assembly aren't lying. This has been a great opportunity for me to teach my very battle-loving son that not every toy can just be knocked down! Once he understood that it was too much work for mama to put it back together each time, he has been great with it. Using glue on the walls would probably solve this, but I like that he HAS to be relatively gentle with it. That said, even if he were rough with it, nothing on it would actually break. Playmobil stuff is incredibly durable.

Some of the details on this castle are amazing. I particularly enjoyed the "toilet," which is a hole cut into a ledge in the castle wall, just like the real castles used (ew!). My son thinks it's there so one can poop on one's enemy, which would be a great battle tactic... The flags, torches, ladders and furniture are all great. Of course, the breakaway wall is super fun (and if you buy an additional "big" canon, it will actually knock it down, and you can get more enemy knights with it, which is a plus). The bucket for lifting things has been popular, as is the trapdoor. He likes the contraption for dropping rocks over the wall. There's even a chandelier that can be raised and lowered! The fact that there's a queen has kept his stepsister engaged in playing, too (the queen can also hold a sword, which makes her even more fun).

Playmobil also makes many "single" knights, which can be bought for just a few dollars each, adding novelty at a future date. I particularly like the carrying case with a knight, horse and many accessories. All in all, this is the best toy my son has had, and I anticipate being able to add to it with occasional new knights over time to keep it fresh and fun for years to come.

fun but not sturdy February 13, 2008
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
The castle itself is great. It has all sorts of neat spaces, a creative design, working parts etc....but I cant keep it together. It took about 3 hours to put together...and now it keeps falling apart. I am slowly crazy gluing the sides together and in the end I am confidnt it will be a good toy.
