This little car is super-cute, and despite having previously read the reviews with concerns about the wheels, we ended up buying it after my two year old daughter excitedly tossed it in the cart whilst we were blowing her remaining birthday money. Sure, I thought, why not?

I guess we'd probably buy it again. Going to toy stores we're so limited in what's 'safe' to buy, ie. not from China. This toy is made in Malta where Playmobil has been made forever, of ABS plastic which is stable and pretty safe. Also, Playmobil has tested pretty safe with the Ecology Center's xrf tests, not surprisingly.

So, love the little car, love the little driver - we never seem to have enough of these people, as my daughter takes them everywhere with her, often misplacing them, and a hours-long search for that one specific person ensues - but that issue with the wheels is a bit disappointing.

There are really two problems. One is that the black part is supposed to spin around, while the yellow part of the wheel is stationary, and this is just a lousy design. On wood floors the car seems to more slide than roll. If they were going to create a wheel that works in this manner they should have gone for a textured, grippy surface, kind of like the big (4+) Playmobil car wheels have. This seems like it would not only be feasible, but common sense.

Or they could have just made a traditional wheel design. Why mess with what works?

The end result, as other reviewers have mentioned, is a car that, if you give it a push, only moves a few inches. Of course, you can diligently push it too and fro, but you do kind of want to give it a hard push and see it spring into action, and it's kind of disappointing when it resists performing this totally reasonable task.

In any case, this seems to be a universal issue with Playmobil 123 vehicles; we also bought the safari vehicle and it has the same wheel design, and all the other vehicles at the toy store appeared, visually, to share this same design flaw. The motorcycle, which we also own, is an exception to the rule and rolls quite well, as expected.

This one is still a cute toy, and my daughter likes it in spite of its flaw, hence the 4 stars.

I love playmobil 123 products and wish there were more. My child can play with most of these for hours. Unfortunately, this little car is not so great - the wheels do not turn well at all and the car doesn't roll.

It could be so much more fun than it is . . . wouldn't take much.
Otherwise, it is an appealing little car and she likes to use it in combination with her other playmobil (but she doesn't push it around like she does with other car toys).

I have bought my son most of the playmobil 1 2 3. I love this high quality toy brand except for the fact that this one little toy isn't as good as the old 1 2 3 vehicles. My complain is that only the black part of the weels rolls so if you push it, it won't go far. In few words, your kid has to push it along with his/her hand in order to make it go.

I purchased this car and person set for my 12 month old (six months under the recommended age for this toy) and it's a big hit! I wanted something fairly simple for a first car and this is exactly that, plus it has the bonus of having a person who fits in the seat. A perfect early (and later) pretend play toy.

The girl figure has one joint - she bends in half so she can sit - and the car wheels turn (although it's hard to see that they are turning since it's only the black portion that spins). Like others have mentioned, the wheels don't spin readily, but that's a very minor thing in my mind - and in my daughter's. If however, you're looking for a car that will roll away with a little push, look elsewhere. For a young child who is crawling/pushing it along and just wants to pop the girl in and out, it's great. I also like that the 123 sets can also be used with the sets for older kiddos - the figures are the same size (with fewer joints), so this toy will have a long, useful life with additional set purchases.

I'm looking forward to getting additional Playmobil 123 sets for my daughter and highly recommend this little set!

My 4 year old daughter bought this with her Christmas money at the toy store. She seems to like it and she plays with it alot. I think she would probably like it better if you could put more than one figure in it though. She still likes it alot and uses her imagination with all her Playmobil toys.

The car was a cute little addition to our ever growing Playmobil collection, but as mentioned, the wheels don't move very well and that was a negative. Playmobil could easily make a smoother moving wheal for this little 'cutie' that would make it GREAT!!!

You can't beat Playmobil! Kids always love the different parts that come on and off. They play for hours. Great toy.
