I couldn't find a whole lot of reviews of this product when I was shopping so I'm making it a point to review it for future shoppers.
First things first. There are several websites that state that this is a CD-R player. I can assure you that there is NO CD player on this unit. It is strictly SD card, USB, and radio.
I also found one owners manual that stated how to remove the detachable face. well there is no "detachable face" its a one piece unit.
The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box is that it is extremely light. (I'm thinking cheaply made) it may be however that it just doesn't have a cd player in there to weigh it down i don't know.
After a couple days of use, I have decided that it is pretty cheaply made, the volume knob is grinding and i can feel considerable resistance on parts of the rotation. It is also kind of loose or wabbly. (technical term)
Another downside I've found is that I can't search tracks or directories in USB mode like I thought I was going to be able to do. So now I've got like 600 songs on a flash drive plugged into it and the only thing I can do is skip ahead by 1 track or skip ahead by 10 tracks at a time. It does list what the song title is and the directory that it's in but I can't search through the directories at all.
There are a couple different owners manuals for this thing. One is on pyles website, but it's different than the one that came with my unit. The one on plyles websites gives detailed intructions on how to search through directories, (which doesn't work) and on my manual there is no indication of how to do so.
But when i press the button to search for tracks i do get a "trk srch" display, but when i turn the volume knob to actually search through them (as per pyles website) the only thing that happens is the volume goes up :)
It seems to be a decent unit for the price. $73 plus shipping so i can't complain too much. radio and weather band work as described. I haven't plugged an sd card in there yet so i can't comment on that function.

I purchased this unit mainly for the "marine" aspect of it because it's going in my jeep wrangler that often sees some stray water inside of the vehicle. we'll see how it holds up.

This is a great deck. I was skeptical because of the price but it has been great. The sd slot is awsome. You can put 100s of songs on it insert it and the remote controls everything and all info is displayed on the deck. I only have 2 negatives which is the tuner is not very good. I had a Sony before and it picked up 10 times better. And it doesnt have much power. But I put an amp on it and its great. I don't think you can beat it for the money though.

I only gave this unit one star because I could not give it NO stars.

This unit failed within a month of installing it on my boat. At that point, it was a bit dinged up from the installation process, and I had already disposed of the packing it came in. After it got wet when rain blew into the bridge during a thunderstorm one night, I heard something topside and went up to investigate. The radio was ON and PLAYING, possibly resurrected by the lightning.

"It's aliiiive! It's alliiiiiivve!" (apologies to Dr Frankenstein)

This unit is cheaply manufactured, the knob is very insubstantial and the readout is unreadable in just the tiniest bit of sunlight. Besides, the display is monochrome. I didn't think anyone made those anymore. One big gripe: It will not let you manually tune in stations, which means that if a station's signal is not really strong, the radio will scan right on past.

At this point, I cannot control the majority of functions from the front-panel buttons, only via the remote, so it works -- sort of.

Do not buy one of these for use in any sort of "harsh" environment, which probably also includes any highway vehicle that may get parked in the sun or into which a little rain may fall. Pay the extra bucks and get a quality unit!

This unit is just what I wanted, cheap, functional. I put this in my mudding Samurai, so it's not very secure, at this price, it won't hurt too much if it walks away. Don't expect more than what you paid for, and you won't be disappointed. Why do most brands still put CD players in, when no one I know even uses them anymore? This unit has what you need, USB,SD Card and an AUX input, for some reason when set to random play, it seems to get stuck on about 5 songs, and that's probably something I'm doing wrong, it's just a player, no super advanced functions. If I want to play a certain genre or whatever, I just plug my mp3 player into the AUX input. In the sun with no top I can see the display, that's nice. It has enough built in power to hear it over the engine.
I couldn't be happier with this unit or Amazon's excellent customer service.

i would not recomend this radio i ordered it because it had weather band and that worked great for a couple hours i mounted it in my plow truck pickup not dump truck and it did not make it through one storm radio now wont power on all fuses have been checked and tried to use the reset button no luck time to go back to a factory radio that only lasted 14 years.

after calling was told to call PYLE tech suport and that was no help, they said i could send it to PYLE and i have to pay Shipping.
i think after the other reviews i will cut my losses and buy a better unit and it will not be from PYLE

The remote was DOA so I called up Pyle and they took my name and address and said they were going to send me another, about four days later it showed up. (I honestly didn't think I would ever see it!) Anyway, the unit is working good within limits: I tried a USB stick with around 700 songs and it was painfully slow between tracks. I now have under 200 songs on the USB stick and it's working great as long as you don't use the 'RANDOM' track selection, just listen to them one after another. I use a program called 'Bulk Rename Utility' to randomly sort the music and add a number to the front of the title to get random play in linear order (if that makes since, basically renaming all the music filenames automatically). Also it does have a clock but there is no info on how to set it, I found in a manual for another Pyle model that you press and hold the DISP button and then you can set hour, then minute. Anyway, I happy with it for the money.

Unit does everything it was supposed to do for me, plenty of power, remote works to about 10-12 ft. Only annoyance is it beeps when you change volume or function. Beep is drowned out at about 28 on the volume scale. I used it to build an electronic snow goose caller. Even got an export fee reduction credit back on it from Amazon today.

There is absolutely NO CD capability in this unit --it is radio tuner/ Aux/
USB memory stick ONLY.

The tuner works well on AM,FM, and Weather Bands.
Blue LCD display nicely visible during daylight.
The "select" button switches through Volume, Bass, Treble, Balance and Fader
controls.
30 station memory? Maybe. I managed to get 6 set in the memory.
2 channel RCA line out plugs present on back of unit, not tested.
The USB interface is quirky: plays a memory stick, only powers my MP3 player,The output from my MP3 requires a patch cable from the earphone output to the AUX IN on the head unit.
SD/MMC slot present, Works well. Simple push in/push to spring eject.
The head unit automatically detects the SD card.

Remote control present, not tested.
I'm not sure what "marine coating" really means. Maybe plastic coating over
the inside circuits.

I noted that the speaker output was quieter than I expected, even with
the "loud" option turned on. I expect to add a separate amplifier later.

The item is a great deal but is listed as a marine stereo. For this reason I purchased this for my father and his boat. Was looking for a detachable face which this is listed as but this item is DOES NOT HAVE A DETACHABLE FACE. For this reason I returned the item before using
