Editorial Reviews

Review

SUSPENSE MAGAZINE - 5 STARS:  "PLUMMET is riveting suspense that redefines the legal thriller genre.  It takes the reader on a supercharged ride through the Manhattan law firm of Sullivan & Adler, and its attorneys.  The thrills and suspense brought to you through their professional lives is just an inkling of the chills and amazement you will receive from their personal lives.  ... PLUMMET is a book that only someone who has been in the legal trenches could have written.  Michael Zarocostas has staked his claim as one of the premier writers of the legal thriller.  I give PLUMMET five stars.  It would be a crime not to read it."

BANTAM/DELL: "A tantalizing plot and spot-on dialogue... This author is enormously talented."

DAVID KAZZIE (author of The Jackpot, an Amazon Bestseller): "A really entertaining, really fast-paced legal thriller. Zarocostas does a great job building the world of the law firm, and the reader gets an inside look at the extremely cutthroat world of big-time law firms. ... A terrific book."

ALAINA (NYC)  Fantastic Read!  "I could not put it down. I'm a senior paralegal in a major law firm in midtown Manhattan and I honestly felt like I was reading a day in my life. ... As for the writing style, the story itself is superb and really keeps you guessing. The change in time periods works very well here and is used perfectly to engage the reader and to keep pace with the story as it unfolds. I also really commend Mr. Zarocostas on his character development.   ...In summation, if you'd like to read a very detailed, realistic account of what it's like to work at a major NYC law firm while also reading a smart murder thriller/mystery, look no further."

From the Author

This book is rated R for profanity, murder, sex, and drugs - not necessarily in that order.

"Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer." - Mark Twain

5.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously entertaining! July 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really loved this book. Zarocostas gives the readers a look into the corporate legal world (especially loved being privy to the down and dirty details of a major law firm) and his ear for dialogue really captures his milieu. The plot kept me guessing the whole time, and as I drew toward the end, as much as I wanted to find all the answers to my questions, I was also bummed that it was almost over. To me, that's the hallmark of a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Force is Strong With This One July 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
All too often I pick up a book by a "name" author and come away unimpressed. Then on occasion I find something by somebody new and within a few pages I know I've found a jewel. That is the case here. From the whodunit mystery to the vivid descriptions of working in an oppressive Imperial legal factory, Plummet is an entertaining page-turner that kept me guessing, and kept me up far too late when I couldn't put it down. I look forward to more works by Zarocostas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read it on a whim July 16, 2012
By JC
Format:Kindle Edition
My wife downloaded Plummet to her kindle on a recommendation. With the wife away this past weekend, I started reading it on a whim intending to only read a couple chapters and move on to something else if it didn't suck me in. Halfway through the book I realized I had not eaten lunch and was going to be late meeting up with some friends. The following Sunday, I woke up and started reading again and powered through it the rest of the day. I like the prose style of the author and there is a level of authenticity in the details that is both realistic and engrossing without being overwrought. A well paced, fun and elevated legal "whodunnit" that fit the bill for my weekend. 4 stars (great for this genre along the lines of Grisham and Clancey). Definitely recommended for legal thriller fans.
