2.0 out of 5 stars Projector wears out before 2 years, DO NOT BUY!!!, May 11, 2011
This review is from: PLV-Z700 1200 Lumens 1920 X 1080 10000:1 LCD Home Entertainment Projector (Electronics)
I owned this projector, which was not bad. I had to replace the bulb twice which cost an additional $700. After less than 2 years, the blue polarizer burnt out and the entire middle of the screen took on an ugly yellow/greenish cast. Made it intolerable to watch hockey or anything with white in the image. I sent it in for warranty repair at my own expense ($80) and they sent it back not repaired, saying on the paperwork that it was not economical to repair. They did not honor the warranty! They didn't even call me to let me know what was happening, or explain to me on the phone when I called them. They just sent it back not fixed. There are much better projectors on the market and I will never buy from Sanyo again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Owned for 4 years, December 21, 2011
This review is from: PLV-Z700 1200 Lumens 1920 X 1080 10000:1 LCD Home Entertainment Projector (Electronics)
I have owned this projector for almost 4 years now and it is great. The bulb life last between 1700-2000 hours. For me that's about 2 years. Be careful with aftermarket bulbs. I bought 2 off brand bulbs and neither one worked. I called sanyo thinking I might have messed it up and they said it was common for the bulbs to not work. So I returned the off brands and got one from sanyo. Haven't had a problem sense.

The picture is everything I could want, blacks are prefect. I use it about 12 feet from my wall and it projects a 10 foot screen. As with any tv the darker the room the better the picture looks but it can easily be watched with the lights on.

After 4 years it works great, I just got on here to see what they sold for. Completely satisfied with this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to replace bulb yourself and only pay 130 dollares thanks to amazon, December 17, 2011
This review is from: PLV-Z700 1200 Lumens 1920 X 1080 10000:1 LCD Home Entertainment Projector (Electronics)
Well i owned this for 2 years just recently the bulb went dead. So i purchased one off amazon for 130 which is a great deal. Once i recieved it and put it into the projector the screen came up for couple secounds of course of forgot to reset the bulb in the menu before shuting it down. Know the next day i went to turn it on and nothing it said there waqs a dead bulb and it wouldnt turn on no matter what i did. I search the internet to only find barely any info to fix this but a lot of problems i had. Many people said i didnt even turn on even after the new bulb was installed. So i found out that some projectors have hidden switches in them to completely reset it. So i took this apart only to find the magical button in a stupid but easy hidden place that you can access without taking the whole projector apart. Well with a lot of messing around this is how you fix the yellow blinking light dead bulb problem. When you take off the cover for the bulb there will be the right corner a cross or a plus shape holes. You now want to take a philips head screw driver and slowly gt it to go through the holes. Now be careful theres a button about quarter of a inch in. You will feel this but lightly press it in. Now that its pressed in hold it down with the screw driver and turn on the projector. This will force the bulb on no matter what the problem is now while holding it go to the menus for the projector go t settings then the 3 rd menu down hit the reset bulb counter button. Once you select yes still hold down the button with the screw driver turn off the projecter make sure its completely off before you remove the screw driver from the button. By completely off i mean make sure the red button has stopped blinking and is a solid red light. Now remove the screw driver put back on the back cover "Insert All the Srews or it wont work" once thats done the projector will turn back on by its self with no problems and be 100 percent working again. Hope you enjoy this it took me 4 hours of error and trial to figure this out.
