can't handle burned cds, bad scratch protection,
This review is from: PMD331
I work at a college radio station, and we just ordered a pair of these cd players to replace some denons. to be succinct: they suck. they cannot handle burned cds at all, and they'll skip at the slightest scratch. My ten buck discman has better compatability than this POS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We have 6 of these at the radio station where I do my show. They are fabulous. I love the jog wheel. It is silky and frame accurate. The cue point operation is extremely easy to use. I can cue into the middle of songs with ease to start up exactly where I want with no artifacts. The autocue is great for fast paced DJ work. The CD text feature is wonderful for my mix CD-Rs done and labelled with text in Nero or CD Architect. This is just the tip of the iceberg. These decks have tons of useful features, nothing flashy, just the little things that make life easy for a DJ.
They play CD-Rs with no problems. Our six units are on 24/7 and have operated almost flawlessly for years. The other reviewer might be using CD-RWs for recordable discs. I have had occasional trouble with re-writable discs on the oldest machines but it clears up with regular tuneups. These decks are given very hard use and hold up extremely well. If I could afford them for my home, I would buy a couple. |
