I'm a sax player...and perform regularly. For years I've wanted a clip on microphone, as I've always struggled with standing very still so my miked sound doesn't change while performing, but never felt I could justify the high cost of buying a good clip-on instrument mike. When I saw the Pyle-Pro Sax mike...I simply couldn't resist trying it, at a price of about $48. What I can tell you, after about 3 hours of practice/playing tunes over my Bose PA system, as this is one GREAT microphone! It sounds absolutely great...good lows, good highs...and a very "natural" sound reproduction. I can't wait to use it in my next performance...as I'm now going to be free to just play my sax and not worry about positioning myself in front of the mike! If you're like me and have been balking at purchasing one of these mikes...well, I couldn't give a higher recommendation that the Pyle-Pro Sax Microphone...GREAT Prices and GREAT sound...and has NO issue with feedback! One caveat...your PA will need to support Phantom Power, as this microphone does require it.

Bought this specifically for a sax. The other guys in the band have way pricier mics and laughed when I told them how much this one cost. Well they stopped laughing when they heard it perform! It was as good sounding and better functioning as their expensive ones! The adjustment gooseneck puts the mic head exactly where you need it. Very nice for getting your sound out over an electric band.

The mic is working very fine, awesome sound, very clear, the only thing bad was they took to much time to send it! I recomend the item, so you will need an mixer plant with a phantom channel of +48 to use it.

Nice cheap condenser mic. Only problem It isn't shielded. Seriously this thing picked up the college radio station depending on where I used it.

This microphone works well. The boom seems to swivel but I'm going to play with it some more on that front. I used it on trombone and soprano saxophone with different players on the last gig. Fine sound quality and the players could dance a bit. Much better than having a microphone on a stand. This is well worth not having load up another microphone stand. Wireless units are very costly and frequently have cords about as or more cumbersome than this. This is a very good compromise that's very reliable and simple. If you are a horn player or have horn players in your band, get this.

It works well with the right PA gear, that's for sure. I bought this because I've started playing sax gigs that have a lot of saxes in them as well as guitarists that only turn up. I also bought it because it was a deal. If you're looking for something like this and have a lot to spend, I'd really suggest getting a wireless one-- as nice as it is to not have to be glued to a free standing microphone, the cord on this got caught up in something a couple times on a three hour gig. This is also a piece of equipment that I don't plan on using often since most groups I play in are small jazz settings, and we enjoy incorporating dynamics lol.

We have a 4-pc horn section in our band. In less than 3 months, the horn players have managed to lose one mic, break the clip on another, and another just stopped working. So considering we're going through these things like disposable razors, I really don't want to pay much for them. That's why I was really hoping this mic would do an adequate job...and that's exactly what it does. My only beef with this mic was that I went to order another one, and the price went from $48.68 to $59.25 in less than a month. So I ordered it from somewhere else.
