Picked this SSD up for my new desktop build as it was a great deal. 160 dollars at this time (2/22/2013).

Popped it into my machine, installed Windows 7, did all my updates, and ran some benchmarks. Sequential Read speed is about 490MB and Write was 290 or so. I'm a little disappointed in the write speeds as it's rated over 500 and it performs worse than the Samsung 830 that I have in my laptop. The Samsung 830 is rated lower for the speeds yet performs better in the actual benchmarks Overall though, I don't think I'll notice the difference and am happy with it. Time will tell if that stays the same.

I also got the 2 extra years of warranty for a total of 5 upon registration. I'm giving it 4/5 as the write speeds are well off what the maximum claim is.

Got this one to build a friends computer and mated it to a 2.5" 500 gig 7200 rpm Travelstar laptop drive. I did this to keep the power draw and heat down to a minimum. Shipping was very fast. Drive was packaged nicely in a premium box more akin to a jewelery box with adequate foam packing around the drive. I can't imagine the drive getting damaged in shipment. Nothing was included with the drive so you need to buy a mounting tray (2.5" to 3.5") and SATA 3 cable. That shouldn't put you out more than about $10.00.

While I didn't use the fastest processor (G3420 Intel and 1150 MB) his new computer is blazing fast thanks to this drive. Boot from cold start 22 sec and from sleep 3 sec. under Windows 8.1. I ran no benchmarks other than Windows performance index which maxed out for this drive at 7.9 (it doesn't go higher). To get the most out of the drive make sure it is using a SATA 3 (600gb sec) connection. While it is backward compatible to SATA 2 it will hamper performance.

This computer wasn't designed as a gaming machine but a machine for photo editing which it does quite well. Windows 8.1 resides on the SSD and all programs and data are stored on the 500gb drive. This allows the OS to use the remaining space on the SSD as a very fast virtual ram drive (windows sets this up automatically). Photoshop also uses this as extra memory as needed. In making another computer I probably get the larger 250gb model as it gives more room for expansion as some programs will not install in any other drive but the C drive (I-Tunes for example) but the data can still go on the D drive for all programs. Remember this too as when an SSD drive fails it does so catastrophically with no retrieval possible. So keep your data backed up.

Absolutely recommended!

I bought this when it was popping everywhere (ie: reddit build a pc sales) last week.

I successfully replaced my 1TB HDD with this 120gb SSD into my Lenovo ideapad y410p thus making the SSD as my main OS while the 1 TB HDD as a storage drive (downloads, music, pictures, videos, movies, etc...).

It was easy to install this SSD. However, I also needed to purchase a y410p HDD ultrabay caddy to use my 1 TB HDD which also replaced my rarely used ultrabay DVD drive.

At that instant, I turned on my laptop and changed my BIOS settings to legacy and the booting order of my hard drives. Then I reformatted my laptop and installed fresh Windows 8.1 x64 onto my SSD drive. The installation, booting, and restarting went by blazingly fast. I did not have to wait like I used to while I was running Windows on the HDD.

My first SSD was a success. With all programs and OS installed onto my main SSD, I have 77 gb of free space and an additional 1 TB of HDD of storage.

IMPRESSION: Satisfied.
REGRETS: Not getting a bigger capacity and gone with a Samsung EVO

Their support is an answering machine that asks you to leave a message and phone number and they don't call you back so their warranty is meaningless because you can't even contact them for Warranty!
It is a decent drive but once something happens you will loose every thing so pay a few bucks more and buy a good brand drive that has better quality and support.
Also, lack of migration software can be very annoying especially if you have win8 and this drive is thicker than most other SSDs and will not fit to most ultrabooks and newer laptops.

Used this in my recent computer build and so far have been very pleased. Registers a 7.9 (the highest score currently) on the windows experience index and lends a hand to a very fast startup. With about 5-6 programs running at startup i am up and running in less than 20 seconds.

I purchased a Crucial SSD about 18 months ago for a fast boot drive. After about 2 months it failed to boot and I tried fixing the boot record, but finally had to reinstall Win 7. Six months later, same problem, same solution. Finally, at 13 months it just stopped. I could read but not write. After reading reviews on Crucial and Kingston SSD's, I decided to try PNY and, so far, the PNY seems as fast but has no problems.

Almost any modern SSD is an excellent addition to a computer. I've slowly been convincing friends and family members of the benefits and this PNY is an affordable option for a speed boost. I have no complaints about the quality and reliability of this drive. Currently it is being used on a 5 year old HP tower running Windows 7 32-bit and it's great.

The only issue I have with PNY is their rebate process. If a rebate is directly through PNY, and not through a third party rebate processor like 4myrebate, chances are the rebate will be denied. I bought another PNY through another online retailer and kept meticulous records with the rebate paperwork and followed all the rules in the fine print. A few days after mailing it I received two emails from PNY regarding my rebate denial due to "Household limit exceeded" and "Invalid purchase amount". Both the claims were false as I had followed all the directions.
