This ram is an excellent deal if you can purchase it below its MSRP of $79.99, however, there are some issues you'll have to tackle before you can get it to the specifications listed. This RAM will inform your BIOS that it should run at 1333 MHz. You may want to overclock it to its rated frequency before you begin using your system. Warranties at this stage shouldn't be a problem, because you've purchased memory listed at that speed. In summary, it works well. It gets lower ratings in benchmarks than more expensive memory, but that is just to be expected. It looks nice and doesn't interfere with my heatsink. I'd recommend it if you're willing to do the work on it. Also, there's another listing here on Amazon, (PNY XLR8 8GB DDR3 1600 CAS 9 Memory Module MD16384KD3-1600-X9) that lists 16 gigs of this for $20 less than if you were buying two of these, though it is listed incorrectly.

This had no problems at all and was a perfect fit for me. I started with one stick, but for my ram intensive video editing apps (Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro X, etc.), I decided to get 3 more. I now have 32 Gigabytes of Ram in my hackintosh, and it is running like a champ.

Least expensive 2 x 8GB Ram on the market at the time of my purchase that was at least 1600Mhz, quite satisfied with the price and performance. Dropped it 1 star in rating due to being advertised as XMP, but BIOS reported memory failure when set to XMP mode. Manually assigning to 1600Mhz and setting the timings by hand was required.

Someone looking for the advertised performance out of the package who maybe isn't comfortable changing these settings themselves would be dissatisfied. Not a tremendous hassle for me, but enough of an irritation to dock it a star.

I built my first PC not too long ago with one of these. I decided to buy another one to run dual channel. My PC is a screamer now. Good product so far!

A few issues with this RAM:
1. Amazon's listing for this product says it is 8gb, but it is in fact 16gb. (You can check the model number on PNY's website) -- UPDATE: the product listing has been corrected.
2. As a Newegg reviewer noted, this RAM runs at 1333mhz by default - you need to change the BIOS settings to run at 1600mhz.
3. When I purchased this RAM, one of the two sticks was defective.
Other than that, the RAM worked fine. Heat spreaders do not stick up too much above the memory. More RAM is always good!

PNY chips aren't the flashiest on the market, but I prefer reliability over flare in my parts. These chips are great on my machine, and I would buy PNY again in the future.

Second one of these, makes for an awesome pair of RAM for my custom build. Total of 16gb gives me a 7.7 windows 7 x64 rating and 1gb is dedicated to the onboard videocard that works together with my gtx 750 ti. Used to use Ocz and Corsair as primary aftermarket RAM but PNY won me over with the XLR8 chips! Great price and quality. Havent overclocked, don't usually push my ram but may give these a nudge at some point.

This card offers the highest clock speed to lowest CAS Latency ratio for DDR3 RAM, and it's a nice 8GB.

I'd recommend this only if your motherboard has just 2 slots and you want 16GB RAM or if your board has 4 slots and you want 32GB RAM. If you're fine with half capacity I'd actually recommend DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) with 7-7-7-21 timing.
