Well when i got my gaming rig back in 2009 i made sure it wouldn't be obsolete for quite sometime. So back then i stuck a nice XFX Radeon 4850 in my system, and it works great for games then. Well when 2011 rolled around, the card began giving me the blue screen of death, so i knew it was failing/and overheating. So I bought a ATI 6770 which was quite a step up at the time, with just a few less features. So i've used that card since, well recently the card started to make the infamous, clicking fan sound. Yes i know uh oh, already. Only had the card over a year. The card still works great, and the temperatures are decent but you can tell it may go at any time.

So that brings me to this card. Actually before purchasing this at my local BB, I went for the XFX ATI 7850, way more brawn, speed etc. What i didn't know is it would make my nice quiet gaming rig sound like a desktop that hadn't been cleaned of dust for 2 years. The fan was ridiculously loud and i just couldn't take it. I think there was definitely a problem with it, I work on computers, so I tend to know when somethings just isn't right. Also testing the card on full load it shot up in the 90's C, that's a big no no, considering the 6770's highest temperature was like 85 C, and that was after quite sometime. Not immediately. So my first thought was ok, time to switch.

I immediately went up and got the 2gb GTX PNY 650. Read about it before hand, actually used a laptop that had one in it, so i knew it would work well. Also i realized i didn't need to crank everything up to as overkill as possible. Especially since i own a PS3 and Xbox as well, but i only game when i have time. So the 650 fit the bill well. The card is actually kind of ugly, and plain, but what are looks in a graphics card, honestly?

I bought this to replace a 7900GTX. For $130, it exceeded all my expectations. WoW runs on ultra at 70FPS. Planetside 2 on high and no shadows at 60FPS. What's more is that it's compact and completely silent in my case. I'm sure the higher end models will perform better, but the price seems to skyrocket after this model.

After upgrading to a 2560x1440 monitor on a computer used primarily for photo editing and mild gaming, the old video card became very depressed. Its fan spun loudly, crying for help, and the frame rate stuttered. It was time to upgrade to a faster card with more memory, and the options were myriad.

Like Goldilocks' porridge, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 was neither too expensive or too outdated. Less demanding games run well at the highest settings and native resolution, and photo editing tasks related to the GPU work well. Also important is that the fan is very quiet. I have yet to encounter any driver issues either. In short, while it is not the sexiest card around, it is great for the price.

Replaced a failing older 2-Gig card.
I'm noticing no speed or FPS loss, and this card was easily 1/3rd the price of my 3 year old card.
Now I wish I'd splurged for a 4-Gig card!

I replaced my old 9800gt with this card. My 3Dmark Vantage score went from P5892 to P11460. My WEI ( windows experience index) score went from 6.8 to 7.3 on graphis and gaming graphics. It runs pretty cool and quiet so far. Best of all in fits inside of my older Dell case . It only uses a single slot on the back of the case, (dell puts the PCIe x16 slot at the top so you can't use a dual slot card there.)

Arrived in safely packaged box. I installed it immediately and am finally able to play games that were unplayable on my system. Battlefield 3, Metro 2033 play at great FPS, and the card is so quiet I sometimes wonder it it is powered on. And the price was perfect for me.

I use ubuntu/kubuntu (now 13.10) but my system was starting to have some problems with the Nvidia driver and the GeForce GT220 I purchased in 2010, so I thought I would replace the older video card with a newer one. After reading the reviews of the GT 610 and looking at the charts I decided to spend a little more and buy the GTX 650. I chose the PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 2GB GDDR5 2DVI Mini HDMI PCI-Express Video Card because it included the adapters I might need. Plugged it in and it worked about the same as the GT 220.

I ended up purging the Nvidia & Nouveau drivers , downloaded the latest linux driver from Nvidia web site ( NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.38.run ) and did a manual install. Everything looks good now, I don't play games but the desktop effects, including cube and sphere are smooth and very responsive, and so far have not had any errors/faults with the x-server. A bit odd I needed to do a manual install to get it to work properly, usually apt-get or jockey installers using the drivers from the xorg-edgers ppa work better but not this time. I tried a couple movies, wine and cxoffice and all looks good, definitely better than the old GT 220 .

I do recommend this card for linux users, but can not say it works great with games or anything other than various versions ubuntu 13.10

I use computer and GPU resource primarily for photo editing and light casual gaming.
It's grouped with AMD FX6350 cpu and 8gb of 1600mhz ram.
Works fine with GW2, Dayz and Planetside 2 on very high to highest settings, giving out decent fps, lag free performance with nice image quality. Temperatures go within normal levels, the reason i'm giving it 4 out of 5 is that it has a problem with drivers.
It won't recognize drivers that come with the box on a CD, none of the drivers available on the internet seem to work with it either, but windows updates them on it's own and you get good functionality and performance for a buck.

And it has a mini HDMI instead of HDMI, but comes with a miniHDMI-to-HDMI adapter to compensate for it.
