5.0 out of 5 stars Great product -- smallest design I've seen
I've only had the product for a week now but it seems to work great. What sets this product apart from others is that it's so small -- it's the same length as your standard key. (All the other USB sticks I've seen are about the length of your typical car key.) And I like that there's no cap needed -- just press the button and the stick swivels out. Despite the other...

1.0 out of 5 stars 3 weeks and dead
We had the same problem as other reviewers. Worked fine for a few weeks, but now it is dead - gives this 'please insert a disk' message. My daughter was saving files she was working on to this drive (I know, not very smart, but she's learned a lesson), so now she has lost all her work for the past week. This flash drive is junk. Very flimsy. Do not buy, even at this...

Despite the other review, which gave it 1 star, the transfer time was super quick for me. I just tested it and found I was able to download 500MB of data to the drive in about 2 minutes. And I was able to transfer 500MB of data from the drive to a computer in less than 30 seconds.

1.0 out of 5 stars One Week and DEAD!, December 22, 2009
This review is from: PNY Micro Swing 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive P-FD4GB-BTS-GRN-EF (Green) (Personal Computers)
I had the same problem as L Huynh. I bought this drive and it worked for about a week. Just as with him, my computer says to insert a disk into the drive and says Windows cannot read it. Junk. Stay away from these drives, PNY's "support" on their website is antiquated and unhelpful. It doesn't work on any of my computers or in my blu-ray player.

I'm returning it.

2.0 out of 5 stars PNY flash drive, October 5, 2009

This review is from: PNY Micro Swing 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive P-FD4GB-BTS-GRN-EF (Green) (Personal Computers)
This was working great for about a week. I loved how it was green and it had a cool swivel to it, but after a week it stopped working. I would insert it into my computer, and it would say "Please insert disk into drive [F]" when it was already inserted... I also looked at the properties, hoping to figure something out only to find that it said "0 bytes used, 0 bytes available, 0 bytes capacity". It had been working fine the week before, switching from my school computer to my home computer, so I knew there was no issue with that. I went to my school's technical support team and they said that my flash drive was corrupted, and there was nothing I could do. I couldn't open files or ever reformat it or restore it so that it could be used again. (Also, I only put some word documents, a powerpoint file, and some pdfs on there, and no programs or anything)

Also, a minor issue was that when you press the black button, it swivels out but it sort of over-swivels. Really just a slightly annoying aspect and a minor detail, but that was also something that bothered me.

I really liked the appearance of this drive, but I think that's about it.

(Also I didn't notice any significant lag time when dragging files to and fro, so I don't think there's anything wrong with that as long as the flash drive is working. But then again, this was my first flash drive)

1.0 out of 5 stars This product should be recalled., November 12, 2009
This flash drive seems pretty cool (folds like a switchblade knife). It worked for about a month, then failed. When I inserted it in a USB slot and went to My Computer (Windows XP OS), it was recognized as Drive E. However, when I clicked on its icon, a message appeared: "Please insert disk in Drive E." Apparently all data were lost.

I consulted PNY about this---they offered to replace it, but said they don't offer data recovery services.

My conclusion is that this flash drive is too flimsy, and that the flash memory can become became disconnected from the USB contacts. I think these drives should be recalled, as they will cause people to lose data.

1.0 out of 5 stars does not seem to be USB 2.0-compliant, August 2, 2009
This flash drive, despite claiming to be USB 2.0-compliant, is so slow that I suspect it's actually a 1.0 flash drive. It took me hours to load my PNY flash drive with 4GB worth of data -- and when I tried loading the same data onto a different flash drive (cruzer), the whole process took about 10 minutes. I suggest avoiding the PNY product.
