Let me start out with the good. It was able to max out everything. This card was a beast. If performance is all you care about, save a few bucks and buy this. This is the only reason I gave them two stars.

Now the bad. Coil whine. It sounded like cicadas in my room. It was awful and unbearable. I tried turning up the volume and ignoring it, but it pierced through my speakers.

Also, awful customer service. I asked them for an RMA and they told me no, saying a certain amount of coil whine is permitted. I told them that it was much louder than it should be, and they gave me an RMA. Why in the world would you be okay with this? I don't expect the silence of a dense Japanese forest, but don't make a product that sounds like it's populated with bees. I ended up having to pay $16 for shipping out of my own pocket. THIS IS IN THEIR WARRANTY. Seriously? You made a s***ty product, didn't advertise the howling winds present inside your GPU, and now I have to deal with paying to ship your product back to you to make sure it's fine? And you ship it back to me, telling me it's fine. I'm sorry, but unless you had Helen Keller testing the decibel allowance for this product, it wasn't alright. This has left an awful taste in my mouth... now I almost wish you had bees inside this card, at least that way it would make honey. Never buying from PNY again.

Video intro:
Here's a video that starts out with no far cry, starting far cry (angry hornets come in about half way), and me closing far cry 3. Even though this video has been compressed, you can still hear a clear difference of when it starts being used and when it stops.

I bought this card to replace the EVGA GTX 560 Ti I have for the current and future games.

I went with PNY over the other brands for several reasons: The first is the lifetime warranty that none of the other brands seem to be providing with their cards anymore, the second is the price and lastly the triple fan and minimalistic design of the shroud (no logos sticking out from the side inside my matte black Phantom 630 case).

Paired with a FX-8350 @ 4.0ghz and 16gb of ram, it will run games I currently play at max settings around 60fps in 1080p. The fans are quiet and hardly noticeable during long gaming sessions.

Things to keep in mind: This card is long compared to the GTX 560 ti. If you're looking to buy this card then make sure your case can support cards of at least 11" in length. All you get in the box is the card itself as well as a vga adapter (no molex adapters were included in my box but I don't need them anyway) and a generic burned dvd that should be hint enough to get the latest drivers from the nvidia website. There are no posters, stickers or case badges included in the package, so if you're one of those people who care for such things then you're out of luck.

All in all, I'd say this card is a good buy if you're looking to upgrade from a 500 series GTX.

I bought this as an upgrade to the GTX 560, which was a great card too. I have it slightly overclocked and it runs Battlefield 4 and Metro: Last Light, which are beautiful and very demanding games, with no problems. I bought this card, instead of a next gen console, for the next generation of games and I am very happy I did.

My System:
CPU: AMD FX 8120 overclocked to 3.7Ghz
RAM: 8 Gigs
PSU: Raidmax 730 Watt
HDD: 2 Western Digital 500 gig drives
GPU: GTX 770

I upgraded to this GTX 770 2GB from a pair of HD 6950s in Crossfire. This single card runs cooler, faster, and with less power than the pair of 6950s. However it's only barely more quiet than the pair of 6950s because of an intense coil whine. The coil whine rears its ugly head mostly when an application or game I'm running generates a high framerate (i.e. over 100fps), otherwise it doesn't come up at all.

At this point, everything in my library plays great at max settings at 1920x1080 (e.g. Total War: Rome 2, Bioshock: Infinite, FarCry 3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 3). You really can't go wrong with this card, just beware of the coil whine.

If you're considering purchasing this card, then you are probably imagining maxing out the current gen games and the games currently slated to be released in the near future.

As for myself, I purchased this card to max out Titanfall, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at 1920x1080 on Ultra quality settings, and it does that at 60+ FPS. This thing will also max out Farcry 3, Minecraft, Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham City. These are the games I own and have tested on, but it's safe to say that pretty much any game you throw at it, it's gonna be able to max it out with little issue.

I'm upgrading from an AMD/ATI Radeon HD4870 card, and the performance gains are incredible to say the least. The old card has recently started to struggle keeping up adequate frame rates. I have to hand it to the HD4870 though, that thing can still run today's games reasonably well at some lower resolutions and slightly reduced quality settings and lower FPS. But enthusiast gamers want to turn on ALL of the bells and whistles, and this card allows me to do that.

As far as the software goes. I have to say, I do like the NVIDIA geforce experience software, although I do miss the AMD/ATI overdrive settings on the Catalyst software. This card does NOT support the geforce LED visualizer, as it appears to lack the reference design LED screen. That's fine, but a little extra eye-candy would definitely be welcome. Not gonna ding the card for this though, as the price/performance is excellent.

- Physical aspects.

It is a triple fan design, the first image on the card is definitely incorrect, although the second photo does show the correct product.

The card is very large, the specs page says it is 10.5 inches long.
