Customer Reviews

I can play nearly every game at max settings.
You will definitely need the extra RAM to run at such resolutions smoothly, especially if you want this card to last for a good few years.
Kyle Jackson
Its a very quiet card with fan never reaching more than 40% .

Let me start out with the good. It was able to max out everything. This card was a beast. If performance is all you care about, save a few bucks and buy this. This is the only reason I gave them two stars.

Now the bad. Coil whine. It sounded like cicadas in my room. It was awful and unbearable. I tried turning up the volume and ignoring it, but it pierced through my speakers.

Also, awful customer service. I asked them for an RMA and they told me no, saying a certain amount of coil whine is permitted. I told them that it was much louder than it should be, and they gave me an RMA. Why in the world would you be okay with this? I don't expect the silence of a dense Japanese forest, but don't make a product that sounds like it's populated with bees. I ended up having to pay $16 for shipping out of my own pocket. THIS IS IN THEIR WARRANTY. Seriously? You made a s***ty product, didn't advertise the howling winds present inside your GPU, and now I have to deal with paying to ship your product back to you to make sure it's fine? And you ship it back to me, telling me it's fine. I'm sorry, but unless you had Helen Keller testing the decibel allowance for this product, it wasn't alright. This has left an awful taste in my mouth... now I almost wish you had bees inside this card, at least that way it would make honey. Never buying from PNY again.

Video intro:
Here's a video that starts out with no far cry, starting far cry (angry hornets come in about half way), and me closing far cry 3. Even though this video has been compressed, you can still hear a clear difference of when it starts being used and when it stops.

I bought this card to replace the EVGA GTX 560 Ti I have for the current and future games.

I went with PNY over the other brands for several reasons: The first is the lifetime warranty that none of the other brands seem to be providing with their cards anymore, the second is the price and lastly the triple fan and minimalistic design of the shroud (no logos sticking out from the side inside my matte black Phantom 630 case).

Paired with a FX-8350 @ 4.0ghz and 16gb of ram, it will run games I currently play at max settings around 60fps in 1080p. The fans are quiet and hardly noticeable during long gaming sessions.

Things to keep in mind: This card is long compared to the GTX 560 ti. If you're looking to buy this card then make sure your case can support cards of at least 11" in length. All you get in the box is the card itself as well as a vga adapter (no molex adapters were included in my box but I don't need them anyway) and a generic burned dvd that should be hint enough to get the latest drivers from the nvidia website. There are no posters, stickers or case badges included in the package, so if you're one of those people who care for such things then you're out of luck.

All in all, I'd say this card is a good buy if you're looking to upgrade from a 500 series GTX.

I bought this as an upgrade to the GTX 560, which was a great card too. I have it slightly overclocked and it runs Battlefield 4 and Metro: Last Light, which are beautiful and very demanding games, with no problems. I bought this card, instead of a next gen console, for the next generation of games and I am very happy I did.

My System:
CPU: AMD FX 8120 overclocked to 3.7Ghz
RAM: 8 Gigs
PSU: Raidmax 730 Watt
HDD: 2 Western Digital 500 gig drives
GPU: GTX 770

I upgraded to this GTX 770 2GB from a pair of HD 6950s in Crossfire. This single card runs cooler, faster, and with less power than the pair of 6950s. However it's only barely more quiet than the pair of 6950s because of an intense coil whine. The coil whine rears its ugly head mostly when an application or game I'm running generates a high framerate (i.e. over 100fps), otherwise it doesn't come up at all.

At this point, everything in my library plays great at max settings at 1920x1080 (e.g. Total War: Rome 2, Bioshock: Infinite, FarCry 3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 3). You really can't go wrong with this card, just beware of the coil whine.

Pros: three fan design. Beautiful graphics reproduction with all of the eye candy turned on.

Fans are quiet even at 90%. They are quite bearable at 100%. My EVGA 570 had that distinct "hair dryer" sound under load.

Cons: No cooling/overclocking utility of any sort included with the card or posted on the website.
Is it really hard to create a similar version of EVGA's Precision X or provide links on a leaflet included with the product for MSI Afterburner, etc? I had to read quite a few forums to find out that EVGA's Precision X (that I used with my EVGA 570) worked with this card.

Other Thoughts: This is a no frills card. The accessories are few, the driver disc is a generic burned TDK DVD with out of date drivers.

The card performs beautifully though, and switching from a GTX 570 to this was as simple as uninstalling the older card and putting this one in and rebooting a few times.

Simply put, this card is amazing! My primary gaming PC is an HTPC in my living room, running an Intel i5-760 @ 3.6ghz with 8gb of RAM. It is hooked up to a 7.1 channel Onkyo Receiver and a 55" LG LED TV. I was using an ASUS GTX 460 previously and this is quite the upgrade!

The card itself is about 4" tall and 10.7" long. If you are going to put it in an HTPC make sure your case can handle a card of this size. There are 3 fans on the card and a small vent out the back to exhaust hot air. The back of the card also has 2 DVI ports, HDMI, and Display Port so there are plenty of connection options.

I wanted a card that can handle games at close to max settings while running 60fps in 1080p and so far this thing has delivered! I installed MSI's Afterburner software to monitor temps and had the intentions of dialing all my game settings in at 60fps. At first Metro 2033 was hitting 100% GPU usage and 80c temps with very high settings, 4x MSAA, and 4x AF. At that time I was topping the card out at 1046mhz and dropping occasionally to about 45fps. After playing with the fan curve in Afterburner the temp has dropped to about 72c and the card now hits 1137mhz. At those temps and speeds Metro was suddenly hitting 50 to 55fps. I could get it to 60fps by lowering some settings but it looks great so I won't bother. Borderlands II, Dishonored, and Mortal Kombat all run at a solid 60fps at max settings and the card doesn't break a sweat. I have also been playing Just Cause 2 and with high to very high settings and 8x AA and AF it runs around 60fps as well. I should note that since I am gaming on an HDTV I use v-sync to prevent tearing. My benchmarks are nowhere near as scientific as most PC websites so check one out if you want more accurate numbers!
