I had a Linux server where I was using on-board motherboard graphics. I figured for a server, who cares? But I ended up running more and more graphical applications and the on-board graphics just weren't cutting it. The problem is I had no normal PCIE x16 slots -- only PCIE x4 and PCIE x1 slots due to the server motherboard. It's hard to find video cards for these slots. Some people modify the x16 cards and/or their motherboard but I didn't really want to be cutting into either. So I got the PNY card and it's worked very well. With Linux (openSUSE) I got the best results using NVIDIA's drivers instead of the stock X-Windows drivers.

Dropped this card in a spare PCIx1 slot alongside my GTX260 to add a third (and maybe a fourth) monitor to my current rig. Performs well enough but has a little trouble with my monitor's 1920x1200 resolution. When moving windows across to it it may stutter a bit, but honestly, for the increase in workspace it was completely worth it. It also allows me to offload PhysX to it when I'm gaming, although it hasn't made much difference due to the cards' relatively low processing core count. Still, it makes a great add in card to add additional monitors or for someone who doesn't need gaming or very large monitor support.

This video card came with my computer. After several years (I am holding out for Intel upgrades & Windows 8) the card finally went out. I have six monitors and this is one of the three cards that are in my computer. I tried several replacement cards but none of them worked. I decided to replace the card with the one I had before. I received it, installed it, no drivers to install because it was a replacement -- and everything worked right away. No conflicts, no issues. Back up and running. This card runs in single monitor our double monitor mode.

This video card actually reduced scores for video on my HP dc7900 pc. It is virtually unusable on any other pc in the house. A tragic mistake of a purchase.
