Great and very fast flash drive.

The plastic cover cover is kind of cheap but it works pretty good, only the sliding part is very tough so it takes little bit power to slide it.

Transfer speed is so fast with 3.0 usb hub.

This is a great drive, 60 dollars for a 128gb USB 3.0 drive is definitely good enough. I already had PNY's SD card, so I knew they made good flash products.

The benchmark showed up quite nice as well.

Sequential Read : 197.193 MB/s
Sequential Write : 104.529 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 151.087 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 32.768 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 4.596 MB/s [ 1122.0 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.110 MB/s [ 26.8 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 5.005 MB/s [ 1221.9 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.085 MB/s [ 20.6 IOPS]

Test : 100 MB [F: 0.1% (0.1/119.2 GB)] (x5)

Faster than Patriot or Corsair's lower tier USB drive models.

The... externals of this drive, though, is somewhat flimsy and the 'slide' mechanism is not quite as comfortable feeling as the big-name makers'. It's somewhat stiff and a bit too tight to operate, and I hope actually sliding it frequently won't break it off.

Other than that, I don't see any fault with this wonderful drive.

This drive is GREAT!

Pros:
Small size but with giant capacity
There is a LED light
No cover to lose, its a slider cover where the cover slides down to protect the usb adapter
USB 3.0 / 128GB at a great price

Cons:
Plastic

I did 2 tests with Lan speed test writing and reading a 100MB file

On USB2.0 port on my dell xps, I get:
~24MB/s Write
~27MB/s Read

On Macbook Pro USB 3.0, I get:
~80MB/s write
~192MB/s read

Lets see how long it last...

(Update) been using it half year and still going strong.... will update again later..

On my Windows 8 machines, the maximum sustained write speed is 77 MB/s with exFAT. Reads were double that. Strangely, pulling from my RAID-5 network drive (which saturates my SSD with 113 MB/s writes), I saw a somewhat inconsistent 55 MB/s.

Block size had no impact on performance with exFAT. NTFS was 77 MB/s at larger block sizes and 72 MB/s at smaller ones.

You'd think that sort of performance would make this drive suitable for general-purpose use. Not so much. Random-write performance is awful; par for the course for almost all USB flash drives, 3.0 or not. The controller hardware in these things is rudimentary. I briefly had this PNY configured as a download folder for a program that would automatically reconstruct downloaded files. It couldn't keep up with my 5.5 MB/s (megabytes/s) internet connection. The program interface was constantly unresponsive.

While it's terrific bargain for general use (you won't find 80 MB/s sustained writes from a reputable memory brand for $0.39/GB anywhere else), I returned it in favor of a SanDisk Extreme 64 GB. Half the space and 30% more expensive, but with a proper drive controller that makes it just as responsive (and nearly as fast, with legit 150 MB/s+ writes and excellent random write performance) as an SSD.

For about half the cost of other 128 GB USB 3.0 thumb drives, this drive has met my expectations.
I had feared that it would be much slower than reported.

After repartitioning it for Mac OSX usage via Disk Utility (format as GPT / Mac OS Extended Journaled), it was ready for use.

It isn't the fastest drive, but a MBP Pro Retina copied a 66 GB folder of mixed size files to the drive in under 16 minutes.
That means its write speed is good enough to be a practical backup drive.

Slide cover is not very elegant or easy to slide, but it is serviceable. Get this drive for its capacity, speed, and relatively low cost.
It's not pretty, but it definitely works.

Use SuperDuper's Smart Backup or a rsync Terminal command, and your subsequent backups will go even faster.

I've been pretty impressed with the read and right speeds of the PNY 128GB thumb drive. The size is decent, the speeds are fast, and the capacity is large enough to hold an entire video project without much trouble. It's nice to see that fast, large capacity thumb drives are this reasonably priced. This is well worth it if you need the capacity.

As you can see from the video I'm seeing 193MB/s sequential reads and 78MB/s Sequential writes which is pretty impressive for a 128GB flash drive under $50.

I recommend this product, it arrived on time, well packed, and is currently working. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars, it is not as fast as advertised. Sequential Read : 197.193 MB/s
Sequential Write : 104.529 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 151.087 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 32.768 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 4.596 MB/s [ 1122.0 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.110 MB/s [ 26.8 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 5.005 MB/s [ 1221.9 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.085 MB/s [ 20.6 IOPS] I could only reach 149, and 99 on the read and write. However I would highly recommend this drive!

It shows up in Windows 7 as an unrecognizable device, and when you try to initialize it, it shows up with a 0GB capacity. This drive was used for benchmarking and once to transfer files, so basically on its third use in just about 2 weeks of ownership it has failed. Looking more closely at reviews from Amazon.com and other places finds more people reporting the same type of rapid, complete failure. Returning it would incur a 15% restocking fee (since I threw out the packaging - which you basically have to destroy to open), and I am now waiting on RMA info from PNY.
