What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
I selled my PNY GTX770 and get this GPU, it makes my case cool down a lot. 1. Great heat sink design, all hot air directly goes to the rear of the case. 2. Generate 40% less heat compared to GTX770, yet deliver the performance of GTX780
Unlike other brand, this card comes with standard clock, but you can easily overlock this GPU by using MSI Afterburner. It is really just one click. You can get the similar (or better) performance as other overlocked card. I increased the GPU Base Clock by 150 MHz and played crysis3 for an hour, the card can easily handle this without any problem.
4GB memory are large, crisis3 only eat at most 2.5GB at 4k resolution. It is about 26 - 30 FPS in crysis3 at 4k resolution with FXAA and High settings (texture resolution: very high). You can get reasonable FPS at 4k resolution if you turn down the spec and anti-alias a bit. I am planning on getting another one to conquer the 4k display. Looks like this is the most cost-effective solution to the 4k.

As a gamer, I do not min/max, overclock, or have the urge to play on the highest settings possible. I still use a 4-year old i5 750, Dell XPS 8100 for my gaming needs. I do upgrade the video card/RAM/hard drive as I see fit however.
2-years ago, the GTX 690 was my dream card, but not financially viable. So I purchased the EVGA GTX 660 Ti instead to good results. I could play games at 1680x1050, with settings at medium to high with the occasional lag/stutter.
When the GTX 980 went on sale for the first time recently, I poured hours reading reviews and balancing my financial budget, to see what I could sacrifice to purchase it. I thought about eating less food, but truthfully, I preferred not to neglect my meals. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that the GTX 970 was a better cost/performance card, and went with that.
Looking to purchase the GTX 970, the only brand available for sale was PNY - I was actually looking specifically for the EVGA or ASUS versions, but they were sold out on Amazon and competing websites. With some initial hesitation, I went with the PNY.
When the card arrived, it was virtually the same exact dimensions as my GTX 660 Ti - thankfully since that's all that could fit in my Dell XPS 8100. As for the performance... wow... the stutter/lag were gone at the resolution/settings I play at. As reference, the games I am currently playing include Borderlands 2, SWTOR (MMO), and Diablo III. My GTX 660 Ti was more than capable for World of Warcraft (MMO) and Skyrim w/HD textures.
I've been using the PNY brand card for a few days now, and have absolutely no issues with it. The card brand design material is exactly the same as my EVGA 660 Ti, and it is also silent.Read more ›

The no frills, no extras GTX 970. It a vanilla reference design and doesn't have any factory overclocking going on. It doesn't include any games and only has one DVI port. It has mini-HDMI output instead of the full-size HDMI port which I would prefer.
If you have a window in your case side and like to display fancy innards of your PC, this probably isn't the card for you. It is very plain looking.
The cooling is adequate provided you don't overclock it.The shroud is made of think plastic but because of the way it fits tight to the PCB and is securely fastened, it actually provides a healthy amount of stiffness and the unit seems resistant to tail droop or sag problems. I'm using it on an ASUS M4A89 GTD Pro motherboard with AMD Phenom II x6 1090T cpu and 8GB of Patriot 667 MHz DDR3 ram and I got a 3Dmark11 score of about P10300 with a graphics score over 16000. I say about because the scores varied a little from run to run and I played around with the overclock on my CPU but left the GPU clock at stock 1051 with 1178 boost MHz. This is the new GM204 Maxwell architecture.
This card is a strong performer. If adapted to liquid cooling, it would probably overclock extremely well.

It's mostly ugly as hell. The side facing my case window is just solid black with no marks other than the 2 power jacks. The shroud is flimsy plastic similar to what a clamshell plastic retail package feels like.
that's where the negatives stop.
I wanted a blower cooler and this one fits the bill well. very quiet at idle, somewhat noisy at full speed but still not bad. Venting the air out instead of circulating it has dropped my CPU temps 5-10 degrees depending on load and the card stays perfectly cool even with a mild overclock.
I thought I might return it simply for aesthetics, but i've changed my mind.
