My grandmother has this card made by ASUS. It runs Call of Duty ON HIGH without any problems. Of course Call of Duty is a little bit old, but still. Its not too pricy, so try to get an ASUS version. Its even better(test proven) then the PNY version. Its great overall, especially the graphics quality. Hey, nobody cares about the warranty on a product unless they are unlucky. Dont be suprised if the company howver wont send you a new one after you KILLED it. Thats really it, its a must buy!

I purchased this recently for a computer I was building and can't wait to get another for SLI! It runs all of my games on near high settings flawlessly.

Does not work with Apple 30" Display,

Theres pages on the web where it says that the PNY Verto 6600GT is a cheap solution to power an Apple 30" Display with 2560 x 1600 pixels. It looks like this current version of the graphics card is different from older versions, and does not have the TMDS chip anymore to supply dual-link DVI. There have been version of the PNY Verto 6600GT that had two DVI ports, the new ones have 1 DVI and 1 VGA port. I just bought one off amazon, but it doesnt supply 2560 x 1600 to power my Apple 30", so unfortunately I have to return it. I just write this review so not somebody else runs into the same problem. Cheers!

PNY ROCKS!,

I recently purchased this card not knowing what wattage my power supply was. When I got home and installed it I found that my 180 watt supply wasn't up to the required 300 watt requirement posted clearly on the box. My bad. I was having a few issues so I called the support line (included in the package), told them that my supply was short by a lot and still the tech on the line walked through 3 or 4 other items that could have been the cause. This guy went out of his way to make sure that there wasn't anything else wrong. New power supply showed up, issue solved. The previous posters comments were unfounded in my experience, I'd definitely recommend the PNY version of this card to everyone.

PNY "lifetime warranty" worthless,

PNY's lifetime warranty is a joke. PNY claims that their warranty for a product is only valid as long as they are still manufacturing it. So, in theory, they could change revision numbers every month and then claim that a defective product is no longer covered under warranty. Some attorney general needs to investigate this company's business practices.

PNY has an unbeatable warranty!,

I couldn't disagree with the reviewer who complained about the PNY lifetime guarantee. While I don't doubt that PNY may refuse to support driver issues for people who don't know what they are doing, they absolutely support their hardware 100%. I had a 5 year old PNY graphic card that died on me. I almost threw it away until I checked their website and learned that they offer a lifetime warranty. I called them and they sent a brand new replacement no questions asked. So, if you require handholding and cannot troubleshoot basic problems yourself then maybe this card isn't for you. If you are computer literate and your only concern is receiving a high quality card backed by a lifetime warranty then grab this one.

PNY does NOT support their products,

While I am pleased with the performance of my PNY card, I ran into problems when I had a problem with it and tried to get support.1: PNY has NO email address posted on their website for support or any other topic. 2: Calls to PNY only resulted in a "We don't support that" answer. This means that the lifetime warranty offered is absolutely meaningless. It also means that it is a complete waste of money to buy their products because they will NOT be supported. After more than 25 years in the repair of computer hardware, I have never seen a company that absolutely refuses to support a product the way that PNY did.

Don't buy PNY -- unethical company,

I bought a PNY graphics card that recently died. The card has a lifetime replacement warranty, so I thought "no problem, I'm covered." Sounds simple. HOW WRONG I WAS. I bought the card in December 2002, so the thing is not yet 3 years old. It turns out that PNY considers the life of a video card to be 1 year (or so, they're not very specific) and refuses to service my card under the lifetime replacement warranty.I don't know about all you, but I consider my computer equipment to have a lifetime of more than 1 year, and even 4-5 years as I pass my old machine on to the kids. Bottom line: PNY doesn't have the ethics of a company I'm willing to deal with. I'd look somewhere else if I were you. |
