Simply the best!!!,
By
This review is from: PNY Verto GeForce4 Titanium 128MB DDR Ti4400 AGP (Personal Computers)
I was luckily able to buy this card after receiving a gift certificate for my birthday back in Jan. I am extremely happy I waited to use it because I am far from disappointed in this card!!! Quite simply, it screams!!! I can run Jedi Knight II at full resolution, with everything max-ed out, without a problem. Part of this is also due to the fact that I recently upgraded my five year old computer - which amounted to pratically a full rebuild. Still, I am glad I waited for this card because it makes my computer fly and it makes the games that much more exciting and immersive. If you can afford this card, get it!! Also, PNY has a full lifetime hardware warranty so if it [goes] out on you ever, you can get it replaced. Spend the money on this now and you won't have to upgrade your graphics for at least 3 years. For those of you who can't afford this, wait for the comparable Ti 4200 - slated for release at the end of April 2002. It will be well worth the money.

THIS CARD IS BEING REPLACED,

This review is from: PNY Verto GeForce4 Titanium 128MB DDR Ti4400 AGP (Personal Computers)
I bought my new computer with this card a little more than 3 months ago. Things started well until recently that my Windows XP became unstable, often restarting itself. The error message said that the card may cause this problem and asked me to download the latest driver. After I did that, the problem became worse and, my computer screen became funny with colorful dots all over the place. Finally, I called the tech support from the computer manufacture and was told that other users had experieced the similar problem. I was then instructed to uninstall the card from my computer and sent it back for a replacement. Now I am waiting for it to arrive.

There is nothing wrong with this card,

I love how people blame a card instead of their old outdated computers. I have XP, the card installed perfectly, on a clean install and on a upgrade install. There were no problems. If you install in non certified drivers, of course here are going to be poblems. I can play Unreal 2 with this card at 1600X1200 with 4X FSAA with norton system work running in the background. It is a grat card if you are a power user, and it isn't too loud. The only card that I think is better is the ATI RADEON 9700 PRO.If you want a good card but are not willing to pay the near [money] for a GeForce FX get this one and you will be set for some time

The GeForce Ti-4400 is a very good graphics card, with very complete web site including customer support. The problem I had was my power supply, this card needs a 300/350 watt power supply & my pc is only 200 watt (the power supply for this card is not listed on the box) & as a result (plus my being a novis)I burned out the mother board on my pent.-4 2gig pc. So be aware of your systems information, & the up-grade you plan to use.PNY was very, very helpful in working with me, but now I have a video card ...I cant use or send back for a refund, thank you

How can you tell if the card is good if it doesn't even work,

I purchased this card last week and have yet to get it to work. My PC meets all the required specs, but XP will not recognize the card. Installing the drivers that come with the card, or downloading the latest drivers from nvidia, only make things worse, locking up XP on the splash screen. It would be nice if PNY tech support could help me out, but you can not get in touch with them, or should I say, "him". If you do make it through to their tech support voice mail, and there is actually room for you to leave a message, the tech support states that you have "reached pny tech support, but I'm not here right now". After speaking to everyone else, (microsoft, ASUS, etc), everyone was of the opinion that the card was faulty. I returned it for a new one, but found that one to have the same problems. After speaking with a professional tech from another non pny source, he believes that the installed memory on the card is bad..I think he is right. Do I try a third card, or give up while I still have some hair left? Oh, also, emailing pny tech support also went nowhere. After writing a similar message as the one I'm leaving here, I was unable to send the email without a proper serial number. I entered every number I could find on the card, or in the installation guide, and notta. They tell you where to find the number, but nothing I entered would register, and I was unable to send an email. I'm not saying that this card might not scream once you get it up and running, but expect problems, and expect no help from PNY.

This card is great. I have an AMD 1700+ on an MSI Nvidia Nforce420 Pro motherboard and it works beautifull. I play Hitman sequel without a hitch. This is one fast and beautifull card.

I bought this card last year to replace my VisionTek Geoforce2 card;...I have had 0(Zero) problems with it. It performs wonderfully on my computer and has not had a problem with any game so far (over 50). I've updated the drivers once last year with no ill effects and I have rebuilt my computer and it still works fine. Why are some people complaining and having so much trouble?? Beats me.

This vidcard should never have been released,

I bought it and attempted to run it on three motherboards,an ABIT KR7A-133R with an Athlon XP1700 proc; a Gigabyte GA8ITX3 running a P4/1800 proc; and a Gigabyte GA7-VAXP running an Athlon XP2100+ proc. On the Abit/athlon combo, the card would only run in 640x480 mode at 16 color depth, resolutely refusing to load to windows if any higher mode was attempted. It also would refuse to boot Mandrake Linux's system disks. In the Gigabyte/P4 combo, booting and running were normal. However, in the Gigabyte/Athlon2100+ combo, other ideosyncrasies surfaced. The Gigabyte/Athlon2100+ seemed to bring out the worst and darkest side of this card. On the inside page of the included manual that came with the card was a statement regarding the rights of movie studios superseding citizens civil rights in the conduct of their daily lives. It did'nt seem relevant for this kind of statement, not on the outside of the box, to be in this place ambushing unsuspecting customers after they had bought the thing, and just how was a video card going to digital rights manage anyway, I thought! Really it is simple.

I'll give 5 of 5 stars to this Card.Awsome!!! This Video Card will rock you!! It Blowed up my PC!! Now NVIDIA introduces the GeForce4 Ti that is delivering the most radically immersive graphic environments ever seen on a desktop PC. This new video card features including the advanced nfiniteFX II Engine, superior Accuview Antialiasing techniques and flexible nView multi-display technology, deliver screaming performance and fierce processing power-for truly unmatched ferocious graphics power. Using TSMC's .15 micron wafer fab process, NVIDIA is able to drive core clock speeds on both chips to 300MHz. In addition, next generation DDR SDRAM is also running at speed bins of 650MHz for the GeForce4 Ti and 550MHz for the GeForce4 MX. With the 128MB of Texture Memory on board is going to be a standard feature in high end product offerings. At the new level of performance NVIDIA is claiming the GeForce4 is capable of, users will be able to run 1600X1200 resolutions at a full 4X Anti-Aliasing setting and at good frame rates. If you are a gamer or 3D designer is your best choice. |
