Geoffrey Trease has long been one of my favourite authors, and Popinjay Stairs has long been one of my favourites among his books. (Others are The Crown of Violet, The Secret Fiord and Curse of the Sea.) It has everything; intrigue, romance, adventure, history and a very appealing hero and heroine. Get a copy if you can - and if you have trouble, check out the bibliofind.com site - sometimes Trease titles are available from there.
