I have had some good results with kreem it has contributed to the success of many a resto project but since the intro and not so welcome high percentage of gas stations selling "ethanolled" fuels sorry but from my experience good old kreem ends up looking like dissolved styrofoam trying to cling to the inside of your tank. But not so with por 15. This product sticks better than dried oatmeal. From a professional standpoint and not trying to sell a product. I simply have to say that theese folks have fuel tank lining products down pat. This is truly a fantastic product that will outlast your fuel tank. Thanks folks.

I recently did a small motor-scooter gas tank, and this stuff did a great job of sealing off the rust. As the directions explain, it's VERY important that the inside be very clean and dry. I took my little tank to a radiator shop that cleaned it out and converted the rust. But all a person really needs to do clean it out with some solvent and/or laquer thinner, followed by soapy water. There is stuff at H. Depot for converting the rust to non-rust. Or, just buy the cleaner that POR sells. I may end up sealing my John Deere generator gas tank too.
One word of advice: Make sure the sealant isn't built-up and thick around the filler opening, otherwise the screw-down gas cap may not fit....you should use a brush for the top opening. POR is a great company with a great product.

This stuff coats very well. It takes 3 days to dry. Do not shake it up in the can because it causes air bubbles to get mixed up in it. Just stir it. It seems to be a little thicker that house paint. I also like the shiny gray color because it looks very much like metal,

I used this sealer on a friends motorcycle fuel tank. He had paid for it to be repaired someplace else and it leaked.
I have used POR products in the past to seal new tanks before paint. So I sugested he give them a shot.
Again it performed as expected.

Have use this before on my 1978 jeep cj gas tank and it worked great. this time needed it for my homelite pressure washer, why they still use steel gas tanks that rust. 1st if you are doing a small tank use a handful of nuts and bolts,I used vinegar to loosen up all the rust. wash and clean with a base and blow dry. Pore the sealer in do what it says your done. I waited two extra days because the top of tank was the rustiest and leaving upside down it was thicker. also with a little brush try putting under your tank or something else and you will see how strong it is

I used this because it is the product that people swear by to restore vintage metal oil lanterns that have started to leak at the seams. It had a good consistency and was easy to use- After cleaning the tank with white vinegar and some small screws, rinsing, and drying, I just ladled it into the filler hole using a disposable funnel and swirled it around, then let cure for a week. No leaks! Another coat would probably be good but wasn't absolutely necessary. The ladle wiped clean and I just polished it up with some acetone afterwards. I'm happy with the ease of use, success of the project, and easy cleanup.
