Multiple Features Set Your Music Free
The Porsche Design P´9121 by Etón boasts functionality that most tabletop radios lack. A high-sensitivity digital Phased-Locked-Loop tuner lives at the heart of this radio. It locks in radio frequencies and provides excellent AM/FM reception and selectivity--even for far away stations. The tuner also gives you access to FM-based Radio Data Service, which displays the station name and other information on the bright, backlit OLED screen.
The P´9121 goes beyond AM and FM reception with XM and Shortwave capabilities. When paired with an XM home antenna and subscription (both sold separately), it can tune in hundreds of different types of radio programming, many commercial free. The built-in tuner also receives fourteen shortwave bands (120, 90, 75, 60, 49, 41, 31, 25, 22, 19, 16, 15, 13 and 11 meters) and can pick up broadcasts from thousands of miles away--keeping you in touch with a world of news, talk, entertainment and more. The included telescoping antenna is also removable, and the P´9121 allows you to connect external or outdoor antennas for expanded tuning capability.
Ten presets each for AM, FM and Shortwave stations--and 20 for XM-based stations--mean that your favorite programming is always right at your fingertips. The P´9121 can automatically tune to the strongest local stations with its Auto-Tune function. An Auxiliary-In socket gives you the freedom to connect your own audio source to the radio, while the Line-Out socket lets you play the radio through additional speakers.
The Porsche Design P´9121 by Etón isn't just a great AM/FM/XM/SW radio. Use the included iPod dock to unlock your own personal music collection. You can charge and play iPod devices at the same time while using the convenient remote control or precision control dials to enjoy your favorite music.
Wake up to your favorite music with the P´9121 dual-alarm function. It allows you to set two alarms and wake up to music from your iPod, AM, FM, XM, Shortwave or auxiliary sources. The alarm even automatically tunes to the station you select. A battery backup ensures that the alarm will continue to function in the event of a power failure. The adjustable Snooze function allows you to get just the right amount of extra sleep when you need it, and the customizable Sleep timer will lull you to sleep with your favorite music.

Perfect Stereo for the Porsche Fan,

Right from the beginning the creative genius of Porsche Design is apparent. The all black, heavy cardboard outer box slides open to reveal a cleverly packaged grouping of components, accessories and instructions. Safely ensconced in a form fitting foam cutout it would take one deranged delivery driver to damage this system while in transit.
Your package comes complete with the base unit, a universal "Made for Ipod" docking station, power supply, remote control (more on this later), AM loop antenna, multi-lingual instructions and warranty card(s). My overall impression of the P'9120 is very positive. The instructions were simple to follow and setting it up was a snap. The clean lines and linear design are exactly what you would expect from Porsche and Etón. The ergonomic controls were intuitive and easy to operate. The sound quality is exceptional and did I mention the shortwave radio? If you're not familiar with shortwave, this radio (with its built in antenna) gives you a great opportunity to explore the hundreds and thousands of stations broadcasting worldwide on this unique range of radio waves. It's a great big world to explore! FEATURES: * Double wall construction for superior acoustics. Okay, admittedly we're not audiophiles here at 993C4S, so we can't break this down in scientific terms. However, whatever it is, it works! The unit sounds great. * OLED alphanumeric display. * AM/FM/Shortwave with separate Made for iPod dock. * Metal remote control with torch (that's a flashlight for all of here in the US.) * XM Satellite ready (don't forget that Sirrius and XM are now one.) * Dual alarm clocks (this is a must in our garage as we depart at separate times.) * Back-up power source for your presets and clock in the event of a power-failure. If asked, my only two suggestions for improvement or change would be as follows: 1. Provide some type of back lighting for the remote. While I like the heft and feel of the remote it becomes a challenge to use in the dark (tough to shuffle through the soundtrack to Le Mans) even with the built in flashlight. 2. At this price range, the four batteries needed to provide the back-up power source for your pre-sets and clock settings should be included. I believe you get what you pay for; in this case a high quality table top stereo system with exceptional features, sound and design.
