The main reason I gave this 3 stars is because I purchased it specifically for a TomTom and it doesn't work with one. The mount on the TomTom is not long enough to compensate for the height on this dash pad. The pad itself is quite bulky and stiff so you can't even push down on it to adjust the view on the TomTom. The description on this should be changed to not compatible with TomTom. I am quite disappointed. I have made many purchases from Amazon and the description was always exactly what was claimed. If you're looking for an inexpensive mount for your gps this is an OK mount but not if you plan on using it with a TomTom.

The item came very quickly...unfortunately it does not work well with my TomTom, so I had to return it. The TomTom does not sit up as high as others so it could not be seen over the edge of this holder. It looks fine, otherwise.

Fits in car nicely and doesn't budge. Can't beat it for the price. Works perfectly with the Garmin nuvi 265WT.

The mount that comes with my Garmin GPS comes loose from the portable holder after 10 or 15 minutes causing the GPS to fall off of the holder. I am not able to use the GPS holder and that is very disappointing.

This portable dash was too rigid, so did not conform to the shape of my dash. It's center disk also was not smooth enough to keep the suction cup attached.

Purchased as a replacement for the one similar to this my wife gave to our son. This, to me, is the best way to use a portable GPS unit in different vehicles. Although it isn't illegal in our area to have the window suction mount, I like the dash pad mount myself because I can also place the GPS unit closer to be able see and reach it easier. This brand is very well made and works great. It is a bit larger than the old one which has helped with not only overall unit stability but also it doesn't move around as much on really rough road conditions. I easily recommend it!

I had no way to mount my GPS on the dash board, and didn't want it on the windshield because it interfered with visibility. The PORTABLE GPS HOLDER Friction DASH Pad MOUNT was exactly what I needed. I can set it anywhere on the dash and it conforms to the shape beneath it. The plastic center holds the GPS suction cup securely, and it does not move. I am delighted with the way the product performs. I actually bought two, and my wife is also pleased with the one in her car. You cannot go wrong with this mounting pad, and it was about half the price of ones I have seen in local stores.

I ordered the wrong model for my Tom Tom VIA 1535 TM. I was able to fabricate a Hockey Puck disk and glue it into the holder that elevated the surface to attach my GPS. The Holder now works as I had anticipated. I am happy with it. The purchase transaction was smooth and shipping was fast.

This is a very reasonably priced solution to portable mounting of your GPS device or whatever on your dashboard. My only (mild) concern is that the sand-filled donut part of the item could be a little more flexible, perhaps not so tightly filled with sand, thereby fitting the contours of the dashboard a little better. Excellent item for the price.

It is a waste of money. The GPS won't stick to the base. The suction cup works better on the windshield than on the base of this GPS holder. The GPS falls off after few hours. Would not recommend this.
