I own a business that requires solid brad nailers, especially in terms of reliability, and I believe I have found a top contender with the Porter Cable. I've been using this nailer for two years and have shot over 200,000 brad nails (1" and 1 1/4" in size). In fact, I have two of these nailers, and they each have been faced with the hard life of shooting over 5,000 brads per week. Have they been flawless? No. They have jammed a handful of times (a quick 10 second fix), and I've had to take each of them into a Dewalt service center for new pistons (covered under warranty). But considering the price of this gun, and the difficulty of its life, I am astonished by how well it works. For the average homeowner shooting 10,000 brads a year, this gun will last forever. For the professional shooting 100,000+ a year, this gun is an extremely reliable option and worth every penny.

In all fairness, I've only used Rigid (piston only lasted 2 weeks), Bostich (too many jams) and Harbor Freight (I spent more time replacing o-rings than firing the gun), so I have not compared this gun to Hitachi or SENCO, both of whom seem like solid contenders. But for my own uses of shooting 5,000 brads per week, the Porter Cable is everything I need.

As a woodworker that has, until now, eschewed pneumatic nailers...well I'm on board! I bought this for a small siding project that I shared with my father-in-law. Hard to say who had more fun but more importantly the gun performed flawlessly, zero jams in over 1K brads of different sizes. Light weight, easy to load...wow!

I had the bostitch 2 inch brad nailer before and it didn't last over a year and a half im hoping this one lasts longer than the bostitch. I like the tooless jam clearing capabilities, jam free for 500 nails so far, the hook is annoying yet easily removable. points true and fires every time.

I buy about 5 every year and run thousands of nails on a daily basis. We do break them but we are hard on tools. For the average person it should last a life time

I needed a brad nailer for a porch screening project. My first purchase was a Bostitch 1855: a complete exercise in frustration as it immediately and repeatedly jammed. After going through two of those units I picked up this Porter Cable based on good reviews. Should'a done that first! Duhh!

At any rate, I was able to complete my project (500 2" brads) without a single jam! Nice!! I particularly like the jam clearing feature which lets you clear the head without disassemby - unlike the Bostitch - but I have yet to use it. What I don't like is that this unit will only work in sequential trigger mode. The Bostitch had a user selectable lever that allowed you to switch between sequential and bump mode. I like bump mode for nailing long trim strips without having to pull the trigger for each brad. The instructions indicate bump mode is an option with a "black" trigger. Mine has a red trigger. Huh?? Doing some Web research on this little factoid I came across a reference that the black trigger is an option by calling Porter Cable. It says they'll send you the black trigger free?? Note that there's no reference to this in the user manual that comes with the unit. I'll be calling tomorrow - Monday for my black trigger!

All-in-all I'm pretty happy that this unit works as designed! Just wish it had a trigger mode select switch.

I have used this nailer only a few times since It was delivered. It worked fine using Porter-Cable and SENCO brads that were on hand, with no jams or misfires. I am new to no-oil nailers , but like the concept and hope they last as long as a nailer that needs to be oiled! I do wish the carry case had more storage space for brads! Over all I am happy with this purchase.

After reading the other reviews and having an older P-C model that required an oiler, I bought this model and am very pleased with it.

This little inexpensive nailer works fine for small work. I just nailed up a plywood stand of 3/8" plywood. A little glue and 4 nails on each end and I was ready to stain and varnish. Really handy if you have a small compressor set up to run it. Well made. Easy to clear jams. Overall very satisified.
