Part of Porter-Cable's professional-grade 18-volt cordless tool line, the PC18DS detail sander offers the highest stock removal rate in its class, based on platen size and orbits-per-minute (OPM). And it's the only 18-volt sander featuring a detachable detail finger and vacuum attachment port. This cordless tool is powered by Porter-Cable's line of interchangeable 18-volt lithium-ion and nickel cadmium batteries (not included).
The PC18DS is capable of sanding up to 10,500 orbits per minute for fast and smooth sanding applications, including surface preparation, smoothing seams, removing paint, removing rust, and corner sanding. It features a large, 19-square-inch hook-and-loop platen for fast stock removal.
The platen is tapered for sanding in corners and tight spaces, and has a detachable detail finger designed for small surface applications. The overmolded, contoured grip area offers comfort and control during use. For dust management, the detail sander has a detachable dust port for use with a vacuum hose. The on/off switch also is dust sealed for durability.
This Porter-Cable cordless tool does not come with a battery or charger. It's compatible with Porter-Cable's 18-volt battery system, which includes both lithium-ion and NiCad options.
This Porter-Cable tool is backed by three-year limited warranty covering any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship (from the date of purchase). It's also covered by Porter-Cable's one-year free service contract, where Porter-Cable will maintain the tool and replace worn parts caused by normal use--for free.
