I like another reviewer purchased this as part of a three piece combo at Home Depot. I'm a handy man type so I don't use it often, but I always try to purchase quality tools. This gun has let me down several times mostly because the trigger sticks. The final straw was this weekend and I was using it over at my daughters building shelves in her garage in Oklahoma on a 105 degree day. I wanted to get the project complete and get back into the A/C. As luck would have it about half way through the project it jams and the trigger sticks and could not be freed up. Every time I would attach the air hose there was a continuous seepage of air from the discharge port Consequently it took me about three times longer than it would have to finish.

I went to get it this morning to write the review to confirm I had the correct model number and it was working fine. Go figure. Long story short not sure what I will buy, but I will never depend on this gun again.

I bought this FN250c as part of the 3 gun kit from Home Depot.

I followed the directions in terms of set up, use, and minding the temperature (I used it indoors).

After a quick volley of 4 nails into pine 2x4s, the trigger seal started to leak. I had shot no more than 125 nails through it. Perhaps it needs a break in period but there is no mention of it in the manual.

As of now, the tool is still functional and the leak is very minor but I worry about it getting worse.

Otherwise, I like the way it handles, it is light. I don't like the way it loads. The plastic slide grips the nails until they are halfway up the slide and you have to push them into position. It is awkward in comparison to their older 16g nailer with the metal slide which had a spring mechanism that locked back and nails were dropped in through the top.

I bought it only a few weeks ago, so I may exchange it at Home Depot and hope for better luck or return the whole unit and buy something else.

IF YOU JUST BOUGHT THE TOOL: I recommend (this is only my amateur guess of what could help) you go easy on it for the first 300 shots or so the parts will wear in. That means keep your pace down and the pressure low. This may result in better long term durability.

The nailer works exceptionally well, until the seal breaks. I use my nailer 2 - 3 times each year for finishing work, replacing old molding, etc... After less than a year, and on my third use, the seal was broken. I would suggest buying a higher quality product.

I love this nailer! I have several other P-C nailers that require a "drop of oil" each time it's used. This one is oil-less and I like that.

Very powerful and easy to use. Easy to adjust the nail head-height. I use it with a small Senco 1 Gal. Hot Dog compressor and works extremely well. I have larger compressors, but it works well with the small, quiet one.

Simple to insert and remove nails. Easy to see how many nails remain. No adjustment for different size nails. Nice Case.

Used mine for about 3 weeks then the spring that keeps pressure on the nails in the rail broke...Returned it for a replacement, and the same thing happened to the new one. Amazon refunded my money when I returned it...Been a Porter Cable nailer user for many years and this is the first time the same defect happened twice in the same model.

Looking for a newer more reliable brand...

This is another great nail gun from Porter-Cable. I've been using this for the past year without any problems. I would highly recommend this item to anyone installing trim/molding around doors and windows.

Worked flawlessly through a front porch rebuild. Much lighter than my old finish nailer. Easy depth adjustment and plenty of
driving power.

This is my second porter cable and paid a good price. It is a great product. I do, however, noticed that not all the nails countersink even though I have the the setting at its lowest.
