Great reception and sound.

Over all, if you have a Porter Cable set with a battery already, this is a good addition.

Lets start out by saying this is a jobsite radio. It is well built, and very durable. The sound is very good for this type of radio. It picks up local stations that none of my other radios can. It also has an aux imput jack so you can hook up your mp3 player or in my case my EVO. Keep in mind this does not come with a battery. I use my Porter Cable Lithium battery which seems to last for weeks(only ran out of juice once when I forgot to turn it off). Over all, if you have a Porter Cable set with a battery already, this is a good addition. It also has a clean look and goes well at the beach, park or just the backyard. This is the first revue I have written, but thought the product worth it.

Good speakers, battery does NOT charge in radio (dumb)!!! Electric outlets are great. Well protected for the job site and will take a beating and keep on ticking. Good radio station selections on digital radio. Battery slides in back real nice and is easy to change. Cord secures well under the radio, but I wish the securing clip was better. I'll have to figure out something to keep that cord together better and more reliable. Good thick gauged cord to handle your plugins up front. Aerial folds down nice and is real sturdy. The plug in for my iPhone is super and brings all the music to bold digital sound. Real great radio for the RV and construction site/ workshop - just the darn recharging of the battery problem. But hey, the price was right somI got it.

Update after several months of usage:
Yes, good sound, batteries last ok, just switch as needed. Bit heavy/ bulky, but with places I go I need something sturdy that will stand up to things. The front plugs are handy and good, but you must have your unit plugged into AC of course for them to work. I plug in my iPhone and music works great. Auto find feature on radio is good. Great reception with antennae.

Very durable radio. I work inside a factory & have to wear ear plugs. This radio is loud enough to be heard and yet it's not deafening. The auxiliary port is in a convenient location, as well as the two, three prong electrical outlets. This makes it easy to charge my phone while it's hooked up to a music through the auxiliary port.
My only complaint is that the back of the radio on the battery storage compartment got damaged during shipping. The box it came in (the original box) a puncture, and so did the cover to the storage compartment. It looks like it got hit by a fork truck.
All in all, the radio still works & I'm happy with it.

I use this mostly in my garage and it stays on most of the time. I had an extension cord plugged into it once and accidentally pulled it of the shelf and it fell to the concrete from almost 6 feet high, bounced a time or two, and survived without damage, so it must be built tough. Has a pretty good sound and has bass boost, and plenty of volume if you want to turn it up. Works great with the 18 volt drill batteries but I have not tried to see how long it will play with a battery. The two built in outlets are a plus so rather than using up an outlet, you gain one.

I got this because it works with all my other tool batterys so I thought it would be nice to have. The sound on this thing is not very good but it is a jobsite radio. On that note it is a jobsite radio that died after just being on my almost never used workbench in the basement. So if you need a good durabile work radio I would say keep looking.

It misses a few key components like re charging the battery and a secure place to locate the Ipod. That being said
it produces a great sound and is well built. The tuner is easy to work and battery life is great.

I can't believe that Porter Cable would make a jobsite radio that takes their 18 volt batteries but does not charge them. I thought that was one of the main points of a jobsite radio by a tool company. To allow you to charge your batteries and listen to music at the same time. Very disappointing.
