Heavy weight shelf for corner of room. Much more robust than you'd think from the Amazon photo. At first, I thought the price was high for a corner shelf. I was wrong. This shelf is very hefty.

The distance between shelves is 13 inches. The distance of the bottom shelf back (corner) to front is 17 inches. The second from bottom is 15 inches, and so on.

I put it together in about 50 minutes with one person (me), not two as recommended in the instructions.

The instructions say to attach it to the wall; it has wall anchor straps and even dry sheetrock wall plastic "hangers". I did not damage my wall with the hardware, I just set it firmly in the corner and it leans back, not front, by design, so it does not appear that it'd fall forward unless some little kid was to try to climb it. I have no little kids here.

Like all shelves, I put the heavier items on the bottom. I have no sense that the shelf will buckle or bend, even if used for books, which is what I am doing in sort of a fan shape on the shelves. It is sturdy enough for books. I recently bought and reviewed a three shelf Ore bookcase Ore International 3 Tier Bookshelves - Espresso that costs the same as this corner shelf. Although the Ore will hold more books, this Poundex corner shelf is better made.

The Poundex cherry is red and cherry color (rather than brown cherry, as many spray painted Chinese pieces can be). I do not whiff the lousy cheap shellac smell that ruins much cheap furniture (like the Ore).

This is a great corner bookshelf. It can only hold about 50 books though because of it's design and it defintely tajes two people to build.

We just received this shelf and I love it. It was very easy to put together and is very pretty. This was exactly what we were looking for.

Fast shipping, great product. Perfect for our baby's room, but would fit any space in the house.

Before assembly, a few items you'll find necessary or handy. You'll need a phillips screwdriver, and will find a standard screwdriver beneficial. A bottle of wood glue and a rubber mallet come in handy (but a small container of wood glue is included).

I've assembled pieces like this before, and I do not think it necessary to have a second person, even if you are somewhat new to this type of assembly.

The stand is assembled in two sections. The first consists of the top three shelves, the second the bottom two. Each shelf side will be held into place with small wood pegs and bolts. You should apply some wood glue to each peg, and the supplied small bottle doesn't have an easy applicator with it. I'd suggest a separate bottle of wood glue, or some toothpicks to get the glue out of the supplied bottle.

The standard screwdriver comes in handy holding a small barrel nut (cross dowel) that fits into a pre-drilled hole, and you'll use your other hand to screw the bolt into this insert. After the top and bottom section are complete, you'll place the top onto the bottom, and use supplied wood screws to attach the pieces. This alignment is easy and doesn't require another person as the top unit fits onto pegs in the bottom. The final part is putting plugs into the holes. All the plugs/holes weren't exactly the same size, so they fit inside at slightly different depths. Here's were the rubber mallet comes in handy, and a bit of wood glue isn't a bad idea either.

I was very pleased with the dark coloring of my "cappuccino" shelf. The packaging was in very good shape, so I was slightly disappointed on a bit of splinting on the front curve of one shelf. It was slight, but could have caused a nasty splinter, and was on the visible side of the piece. It was obvious this had to be done before packaging.

Attractive, sturdy, and well worth the money!

Very pleased with this unit. It was fairly easy to assemble and it looks very nice once put together. We just got kittens too, and they haven't been able to do any damage to it yet - hooray!

it seems little expensive just for the small shelf but the quality is amazing,bigger than u thought and good looking in your living room.

I love this corner shelf! It is bigger then i expected, and was a bit more difficult to assemble then i expected but well worth the effort. It looks amazing in my dining room. I feel almost bad about storing my liquor on it but honestly it looks amazing and it fits everything well. It is more economical then a cabinet and much more accessible.

The instruction indicates assembly requires at least two people, but it only took me a little over an hour to put it together by myself. If you are handy, believe me, you can do it, no help needed! The quality is really not bad, I was originally concerned about it will tip over because of the design, but it was pretty sturdy and fits the corner nicely. I'm starting to put small decors on it.. no heavy stuff yet..

I put the shelf together by myself in about an hour, no problem. The instructions were clear and I didn't miss having a helper at all. The shelf is heavy and sturdy, I have no worries about it tipping over, and it looks like something I would have paid a lot more for locally. The packaging was very good. There is a slight ding on one edge but it must have happened before it was packaged because the box showed no sign of damage. I received it in about a week with free shipping. Beautiful shelf. Great purchase!
