Product Description

Karl Frankton is a pathologist with a CDC field team in Somalia. For two days, they have tried to isolate a virus that has wiped out a village on the Wabi-Shebelle River. There are no clues, only 84 suffocated human beings. It is July 27, 2013, and Frankton is about to confront an enemy more deadly than a virus … an enemy called greed.

Gary Naiman’s thriller delivers an ominous warning that we are nearing a toxic disaster beyond our comprehension. With world governments paid to look the other way, global corporations are poisoning our air and water, and time is running out.

Since leaving the chemical and entertainment industries, Naiman has walked the razor’s edge between fact and fiction. His thrillers include PPM, OMEGA, THE TENTH AVATAR, STORM RISING, THE RESPONSE, and FROM THE VOID.

PPM and its sequel OMEGA are under consideration for motion pictures.

This is the second book by this author I've read. I literally liked it, couldn't put it aside and read beginning to end in one sitting, it was riveting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Medical dilemma, July 3, 2010

Lots of twists and turns and I liked the pace. Reminiscent of Andronema Strain by Crichton with a environmental plot line. Characters are complex, both good and bad. Might be a good made for TV movie as it is short and holds interest until the end. This is a prelude to Omega, also by Naiman (I read both), so highly recommend reading P.P.M first, or, Omega will likely not be as understandable. Short read, so works as a domestic flight airport book.

P.P.M.

This is a story of a financial and politically driven ecological disaster that gains momentum as global events unfold. The "realistic" situations, people, and organizations involved in this story leave you wondering about the probability of this disaster actually happening. The book is exciting and fast-paced.

More About the Author

Gary Naiman brings a unique blend of imagination and experience to his writing. His background in the entertainment and scientific communities provides his readers with a devil's concoction of factual depth and intriguing possibilities.
"I admit to stretching things a bit, but please remember that today's fiction is tomorrow's headlines."

"I write as if I'm projecting a movie. I believe that is what my readers want."

Mr. Naiman has written five novels-- STORM RISING, THE TENTH AVATAR, P.P.M. (Parts-per-Million), OMEGA (P.P.M.'s sequel), and THE RESPONSE (the first installment of his new science fiction trilogy, THE KERRY CHRONICLES). All are listed on Kindle, and two are being considered for motion pictures.

He lives in Southern California with his wife, Margaret, and family size cat, Huxley, where he manages some travel, golf, and boating while conceiving his latest story.
