1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality connectors - not recommended, December 29, 2007

This review is from: PQI USB 2.0 CompactFlash (CF) Card Reader (Electronics)
This is a very cheaply made device. I found the wire connectors to be easily bent with normal use. High risk you may damage CF cards with use. Definitely do not recommend this device. I would give it no stars if I could.

This was great for the 3 times I got to use it before it broke. Don't buy it. The price reflects the quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars Misrepresented: DOES NOT accept Type II media, December 1, 2009

This review is from: PQI USB 2.0 CompactFlash (CF) Card Reader (Electronics)
If you happen to ever use any Type II CompactFlash media, you can forget reading all the other reviews of this product: this is the only one you'll need to read in order to make an informed decision. In fact, not a single other review (at the time of this writing) even mentions what I describe here. The title tells the whole story, really, but if you need prose here it is:

The very first item in the product "Technical" description very plainly states that it accepts both Type I and Type II media. That is half true: it only accepts Type I. This product is misrepresented: it does not allow the use of Type II CompactFlash media. Well, it might IF I CUT THE TOP OFF OF IT.
