2.0 out of 5 stars good, but dull tip.
W\It seems well made, and comes with spare gaskets. However, the tip is rounded, not sharp, and you'll have to use a skewer or something else sharp to make your holes in tougher cuts. When I tried to sharpen the tip, I found out it's pressed in and I had ground its crimp right off. That was the end of this one.

Some say that Chef Reese Williams and his team at Cajun Injector Inc.® are the true innovators of injection marinades. The culinary minds behind the injectors aimed to provide meat with flavor where it lacked most, the inside. Injectors, originally created with the Deep Frying of Turkey in mind, work well with a variety of meats and cooking procedures. For those of you who are just getting into the phenomenon, or are looking the save a few dollars, the Chef Williams Deluxe Marinade Injector® will do just fine. However, if you are a true kitchen commando you should confidently opt for the stainless steel durability of the Chef Williams Commercial Cajun Marinade Injector®. As the name Commercial indicates, it is meant for more frequent use. The commercial model will also hold 2oz., nearly twice as much marinade the deluxe model. The fancy three-finger syringe will have you feeling feel like Johnny Depp in the motion picture "Sleepy Hollow" as you "doctor" up your favorite meals. Both the Deluxe and Commercial models feel great, ergonomically speaking. You can try a Chef Williams marinade mix or create one yourself. I created my own: Sleepytime Turkey Dinner Marinade.

1 cup water,
2 Ts salt,
1 Ts sugar,
1 bay leaf,
1 head of garlic (peeled),
10oz Cherry Nyquil,
4 juniper berries

This recipe is perfect for stressed adults and over-anxious children awaiting Santa. The succulent marinade juices combined with doxylamine succinate and the turkey's natural lactic acid will have everyone dreaming of sugarplums in no time. Enjoy

-Bits 2001

P.S.- Oil inside your injector/needle before use, and when finished store your needle in the injector chamber for a quick find and added safety.

This injector clearly states it is a "Stainless Steel Marinade Injector". But no, it is consctructed of nickel plated brass. Very disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rounded, dull tip, January 6, 2012

Very dull, rounded tip, so I decided to go to work with my grinder to give it a sharp point. Mistake !! It is hollow all the way to the end of the tip, so now I have an injector with an open ended needle, rather than a sharp point. Now in the trash, and I wouldn't buy again. Shame, because it did seem to be well made, but definitely needs a sharper point.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needle End is Dull, October 12, 2011

Had to do some modifications to the needle on this unit. Would not pierce port or beef. Took a grinder to the tip and now it is acceptable. Does not leak, little cumbersome to clean. I'd probably try one of the cheaper plastic versions next time around for comparison.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for injecting marinade, June 27, 2011

This review is from: Stainless Steel Marinade Injector (Kitchen)
My son got me one of these for Fathers Day this year. I came with no directions so I loaded the barrel up with marinade and found out the holes all have to be covered by the meat you are injecting or you will end up wearing the marinade. Once I got it figured out I don't know how I got along without it.
You can load up a piece of any kind of meat with your favorite marinade in a couple of minutes of playing doctor. My first piece was a boneless hog leg I saturated with marinade before putting in my smoker. The meat turned out great.

In the gift pack was a Kingsford sop mop to go along with the injector. My son is a mind reader. He sent me something I will use the rest of my life.
