4.0 out of 5 stars Adelaide Town Hall Organ, November 20, 2007
By joseph b. faulkner "darkspell" (san diego, california USA) - See all my reviews
...a very diverse program. the maligreau and koehne additions are delicious.the organ is perfect for he programme...english on the trumpet tunes, french on the franck and nicely recorded.(the tocata will have you on your feet!) 61 ranks sounds much larger!the hall tends to be a bit flat acoustically,as town halls tend to be,and it makes one want to think of these same pieces played on this same walker organ but solidly speaking in a gothic cathedral with several secs. of reverb..nevertheless mssr. bowman has done an outstanding job interpreting these masterpieces on a delightful australasian organ in the good old english townhall tradition..kudos.
