1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work as advertised. January 13, 2013
By Steven
This item is a complete piece of garbage. I purchased the item from Lowes because I liked the idea of no drip. When I got around to trying it, it did not work. I could not return it to Lowes because Lowes did not carry the item anymore. (Probably too many returns.). I searched online to see if it was still made and saw the item here on Amazon. I wanted to save everyone else the $20.00 so I wrote this review.

The problem is the complicated mechanism to pull the plunger back after squirting caulk. In theory, this would take the pressure off the caulk tube and prevent the caulk from oozing out. If it moved back just a little, i think it might work. What actually happens is the plunger moves back to the original position. So the next squeeze moves the plunger forward, but the caulk has already been dispensed. The plugger just moves back and forth and never advances. You actually notice this problem in the store when you try it but their marketing genius claims that it works by vacuum once it is inserted in a tube of caulk. This is their perfect excuse why it doesn't work in the store. However, the vacuum is not nearly strong enough to hold the plunger against the strong spring.

You can turn the no drip function off and then it works like a regular caulk gun. The downside is one ends up over paying about $13.00 for a basic gun and the clean up is much worse because the rubber gasket must be cleaned every time it is used.
