I'm glad I took a chance on Pretty Girls Make Graves. One of the best-written eBooks I've read in a long time, it's of as good a standard as any print novel. It's tightly-written, well-edited, with a smart, accessible modern noir style. The characters are very well-drawn & believable. It reads like a hardboiled detective classic had been relocated to modern-day London. Strongly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Real British thriller April 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have lived in London and loved this book. The characters are real and the story line is great. It starts out as a murder and keeps evolving until the very end. I can't wait for the next in the series. The main character is likable but not lovable, honest but not terribly moral, brave but not stupid and intelligent. A great read.

3.0 out of 5 stars not what i expected February 2, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The title alludes to a serial killer, which was not strongly explored in the story, therefore it is a bit deceiving. The story itself was ok, but it didn't flow smoothly like you would expect a story of this nature to do. It jumped an hopped so often I had to go back and re-read the paragraph prior to make sure i didn't miss something. It had great potential, but unfortunately fell short.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps you thinking what now. March 16, 2014

A story that you have to pay attention to or you can get lost making it hard to follow, Book has an unexpected twist in the end that tied it all together for me. Some of it was a bit over the top and slightly seedy, but on the whole it was a good read for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to put down... January 11, 2014
By Jak
Format:Kindle Edition
…but only when you’ve read to the end and found out how the intriguing plot, full of unexpected twists and turns, works out!

Set in Camden and Newcastle (probably the two trendiest spots in Britain), “Pretty Girls Make Graves” is an exciting and fast-paced thriller with our hero Lishman on the run from sinister forces. A great read, packed with action and suspense -- I'd recommend it very highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars a seriously good thriller December 11, 2013
By Wez
Format:Kindle Edition
Reading like the unholy lovechild of a Lindqvist and Chandler one-night-stand, PGMG reframes the 'fugitive' novel as contemporary London-noir. I bought this on spec, sceptical of some of the cult-like aura already being projected onto it but setting aside the hype, this is essentially a character-driven, unsettling and absorbing thriller.

The story was interesting and kept you guessing until the end. Unfortunately the end was very melodramatic and a bit disappointing.
