I was dissapointed in the swiffer as a cleaning tool for my floors. I have dog and cat fur and dust bunnies on the floors and the swiffer picked up very little of it. I had to either pick up what I gathered, using the vaccuum or sweep it up with a broom and dust pan. Otherwise you'd have to change the pad frequently because dirt and small rocks would inbed themselves in the pad and I was scratching my wood floors. Linda

I use Swiffer to get the dirt on the wood floors - works way better than vacuuming same floor. Product I wish they would made is FIVE foot extended Swiffer duster, as the puffiness of their fluffy picker upper on the three foot one is GREAT for getting corners, awkward spots that the rectangular dry mop one can't get as easily.

I heard many good things about the swiffer, so I tried it and I can't figure out what is so great about it. It doesn't do a very good job. It seems like it is made for very *lightly* dirtied floors, not floors that are actually dirty. The pad thing gets filled with dirt so quickly that it becomes useless. It is also extremely wasteful to have to continually buy the refills. Bottom line: GET A BROOM AND MOP! It does a much better job, and you don't have to continually purchase refills from an already rich greedy company and pollute the earth.
