5 stars for Jackie's Project A films in general, not necessarily for these remastered editions.

Highlights here for me...

Project A...
- VIP arrest & battle.
- Bicycle chase & fight.
- Clock tower sequence.

Project A II: It's a quality film, and it's more sophisticated, but it doesn't have fellow opera brothers Sammo & Yuen Biao, so it's not yet a personal favorite.

My favorite release of this brilliant Project A is currently the non-remastered '03 Deltamac-Fortune Star edition. These newer remastered versions by Fortune Star feature an obviously cleaner picture, but noticeably less color, brightness & contrast in Project A, and a little less brightness & contrast in Project A II. Because of this, in regards to image quality, I actually prefer the non-remastered versions(!). Since I didn't want my subjective preference on image quality to negatively impact these films' ratings, I'm still giving this remastered listing 5 stars. And just so people know, these remastered editions might still be available individually, as well as in this box set.

Contents, 2-disc set: These films are uncut, including original opening sequences & outtakes. They're in Chinese audio with English subtitles & original soundtrack. For English dubbing I do recommend the Dimension editions.

- Project A disc includes: original trailer; new trailer; movie photo stills & slideshow; extended outtakes; and 3 deleted scenes with English subtitles- Yuen Biao training Jackie & the cadets in hand-to-hand combat, Jackie & the cadets eating together & reuniting with Big Mouth, and Jackie interrupting Sammo selling rifles to gangsters.

- Project A II disc includes: original trailer; new trailer; movie photo stills & slideshow; and the English dubbed, 13-minute documentary "Someone Will Know Me", featuring 3 of Jackie's stuntmen at that time: Mars, Chris Li, and Rocky Lai.

This beautiful DVD Box Set contains both of the Project A movies. These are 2 of Jackie Chan's greatest films. Don't waste your time on the edited and dubbed American versions of these films. This is the real deal. The picture quality is top notch and the subtitles are fantastic and easy to read. It's an official Fortune Star release and it's region 0 so it will play on ALL DVD PLAYERS! This is a good sign and it makes me hopeful that we will someday soon be able to get all of Jackie Chan's films that have been dubbed horribly, edited and pretty much destroyed for the non-Hong Kong market in their original form in great quality.
