Army Men: 3D is a three-dimensional war game in which you act as a commando-like soldier in a plastic, lilliputian world gone completely Saving Private Ryan. Army Men: 3D places you as Sarge, a lone soldier whose missions involve rescuing captured troops and returning them across a minefield, taking on an enemy fortress unaided, retrieving sensitive documents from spies in the field, sabotaging bridges and radar dishes, and the like. You're in the Green army, which is at war with the Tan, and you've got an arsenal ranging from machine guns and bazookas to flame throwers and grenades--all of which you use to fight the good fight. There are even jeeps and tanks for you to drive around and over people.
Army Men: Air Attack is a mission-based helicopter shooter. It gives the toy heroes command of a helicopter squadron with Apaches, Super Stallions, Chinooks, and Hueys. Jump onboard as these plastic choppers dominate the skies.
In Army Men: Sarge's Heroes, players lead Sarge through 15 missions filled with dangerous objectives, ultimately attempting to thwart General Plastro's ghastly plans with his newly acquired weapons of mass destruction. Players can experience the action from "our world," fighting through seven levels set in a suburban home's living room, kitchen, bathroom, and backyard garden. To get closer to the action, players can jump into the frontline in the "plastic world," a land of mountainous terrain, arctic wastelands, forests, and towns. Six multiplayer missions and a family mode allow players to recruit freedom-fighting friends of all ranks.

What you get in Army Men Gold is a collection of three PS One titles: ARMY MEN: SARGE'S HEROES, ARMY MEN 3D, and ARMY MEN AIR ATTACK. They are all pretty good, but feel dated compared to other games, especially considering they all have sequels on the market. The only other flaw that they all share is the graphics, which are not the greatest considering these were all on more powerful consoles. ARMY MEN: SARGE'S HEROES is an action-based arcade shooter set in real world environments, such as a refriderator or bathroom. The soliders themselves are small, making this game very entertaining. The new targeting system is much better than other Army Men games, and that really helps this game. ARMY MEN 3D is a dated third-person shooter. It is designed to be more realistic, but I found most of the game's levels to be on the annoying side versus being exciting. It makes the package seem more well-rounded, but you really won't enjoy this. ARMY MEN AIR ATTACK is a good, but simple, arcade flying game. It, too, is welcome in this package, but is a little too repetitve for my tastes. Many people consider this to be the best Army Men game of all time, but it is just okay. After playing the sequel, this really feels dated. Okay, so the game might not be the best on their own. But when the are combined in one package, it makes the flaws very forgivable. It may not e perfect, but you get a lot of game for the very low price. If you like shooter games, or just want to broaden your horizons, Army Men Gold is a great place to start.

These are some of the best ps1 games I own! I'm gonna separate my review into three parts, one for each game.
ARMY MEN 3D Its a realistic third-person shooter that really can provide some intense action. You start out in a desert canyon and work your way across a bridge to vanquish a enemy town thats crawling with tans. This game stands out from the rest of the Army men series. Partly because of its superior multi-player, partly because of its bad graphics. You are Sarge, The green army Sargent who's a shoot first ask questions later kind of solider. Sound effects are very realistic. It has 18 missions that you can beat in about three weeks. Graphics 3/5 Medicore. Enemy intelligence 2/5 Bad! Action 4/5 Intense! Voices 4/5 Pretty good. Family-friendly rating 5/5 Very clean! Sound 4/5 Great! Overall 5/5 My favorite of the 3-pack ARMY MEN: AIR ATTACK A helicopter third-person shooter game that has excellent graphics as well some good action. This game takes you behind the stick of one of four toy choppers armed to the teeth with fire works and machine guns! Its very different from Army Men 3D. Its more cartoony and has different characters. The tans are still dumb, but tan pilots sometimes dodge your shots making it a bit more intresting. It has 16 missions that you can beat in about a week. Graphics 4/5 Very good! Enemy Intelligence 3/5 medicore. Action 4/5 lots of shooting is going on around you all the time! Voices 3/5 pretty good. Family-friendly rating 3/5 two curse words are used. Sound 3/5 cartoony. Overall 3/5 my least favorite of the 3-pack ARMY MEN: SARGES HEROES A game with very impressive graphics and a large amount of talking! This is also very different from Army Men 3D because its cartoony and has a large amount of new characters. In this game you are trying to stop the evil tan general from destroying the green army with weapons of mass destruction: Fire crackers, Sky-rockets, toy robots, and much more. Unlike the other reviewer said, This game had only about 7 levels in the real world. Most of the games is played in forest, snowy mountains, and beaches. The music in this game stands out from the others included in this pack, from rock and roll, to old fashioned war music this game has it all. It has 15 levels that you can beat in about two weeks. Graphics 5/5 Very colorful and bright! Enemy Intelligence 2/5 They just stand around getting shot! Action 3/5 not very intense, but still good Voices 5/5 Very well done! Family-friendly rating 2/5 one character were's a bikini-like out fit. one curse word is used Action 3/5 cartoony. Overall 4/5 Very good! This is a great three pack and is mostly clean because if you skip all the cut-scenes in Sarges heroes you never see the immodest girl. And if you mute during levels 9 and 10 of air attack you never here any bad language. Definitely buy this, It has great games and last a long time.
