This peticular device is useful for a PS2 mouse but it is not for a KEYBOARD. So if you want something for a KEYBOARD you need a different device.

Keep in mind that this will not work for a keyboard that didn't already come with a converter of it's own, so if you want a converter to be able to use your ps/2 keyboard on a usb port, get a converter that has a little box in the middle, with cables on both ends.

I bought three of these. None of them worked. I learned by reading product reviews that they're ONLY effective when used with keyboards shipped with a PS/2 to USB converter. If you're trying to keep old but serviceable peripherals out of the local landfill, save your money. One of the reviewers provided not only an explanation but an alternate product, USBPS2PC, Amazon #B00028OP2, about $10. I just ordered one.

Meantime I'm out $12 for three misleadingly advertised PS/2 to USB (NOT) adapters. They're quite useless to me, but it's not the fault of the poor little plastic-metal constructs. I'd like them to fulfill their destiny in an appropriate and appreciative environment if possible. Free to a good home, send SASE.

This adapter will only work on hardware that is compatible with conversion. The seller explained this to me and offered a refund.

I have an old-ish 2007 HP PS/2 keyboard that i wanted to use with my MBP since buying this adapter is a fraction of the cost of buying a brand-new USB keyboard, which I don't really need. You plug in the keyboard and nothing comes up, no error, no anything. I also tried the keyboard/adapter on my friends PC laptop to no avail.

I don't why the adapter does not work. I tried to connect the ps2 keyboard to my laptop with the adapter serveral times. The laptop cannot detect the keyboard after connection. My keyboard is good condition so the problem may come from the adapter. Anyway I don't have time testing it again and again.

This USB which did not say it was only for a mouse or a keybord it read as if could be used as both, when in fact it can only be used by one. This only cost me .98 cents so no big deal but buyer beware. The one you want is the dual USB PS/2 Adapter which has both a mouse and keyboard. Which I had to buy later. Also buyer beware, watch where these are coming from. The names sound american but in fact they are being shipped from China which take about a month. So I looked around and for the same price I could have bought it here in the great USA. I'm not happy with this choice and I learned the hard way read all of the facts listed and don't assume anything.
