Mad Catz Memory Card,
By Mary "Red Hybrid" (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: PS2 Memory Card (8 Meg) (Video Game)
Mine works just as good as my friends Sony brand memory card. You have to sit down with a stop watch to tell if there is any difference in loading and saving times because it is that minimal of a difference. It is a little more resistant when taking it out of the PS2, but not enough to make it a problem. Unless you just want to spend extra money for a name, I would recommend this memory card.

This card is almost the same as the Sony version,
By A Customer
This review is from: PS2 Memory Card (8 Meg) (Video Game)
OK, No matter what anyone says, this card is seemingly the same as a Sony official card. Usually, I don't get anything but 1st Party Accessories for my PS1 and Dreamcast and when I got this for my birthday, I was somewhat angry. But, when I opened it and found that it had the MagicGate technology, and was licenced by Sony, I was relieved. The card uses the same encryption technology as the official card, costs less, and comes with a plastic carrying case (probably because if you have a game like MGS2 with a memory card holder in the case, the card won't fit.) and the card is a transparent blue on top, which seems to be a popular color for a memory card. All in all, this card is perfectly good to buy, and for all those weary of a 3rd Party Card, forget about your worries, this card is great.

A Memory Card Is A Needed Item!,
By Burke Schneider (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: PS2 Memory Card (8 Meg) (Video Game)
OK to start off, a memory card is needed to save and enjoy your games, without it you will have to restart at the beginning of the game, each time you play it. At first galnce this is a cheap and nice memory card and it seems like it has no flaws right? Well no below I have listed all the Pros, and Cons to this memory card.PROS: -Same amount of memory as a Sony Card -Includes Magic Gate tecnology -Cheaper than other memory cards CONS: -Will not fit into the slot in a game case -Requires a good ""tug" to remove it from your system -Slower than Sony's memory card -Isn't as reliable So I guess it is really up to you. Do you want a brand name memory card, or another 3rd party memory card? I would highly recomend Sony's memory card, becasue of its reliabilty, but the choice is yours.

Mad Catz memory card,
By A Customer
This review is from: PS2 Memory Card (8 Meg) (Video Game)
It does the job. I bought one from a local toy store just to test the theory of slow save and load times some people has been complaining about. I found there was a difference, but not so much that I wouldn't save the five bucks to put toward another game.

Great, no, good, yes,

This memory card is overpriced, I don't think that it loads nearly as fast as the Sony memory card or the interact one. So I'd Say, go with Sony first, second go with Interact, and as a last resort, go with this one.

Excellent product, excellent price.,
This review is from: PS2 Memory Card (8 Meg) (Video Game)
I bought my first Mad Catz product - this memory card - about three years ago. Since then I've added to my collection of MC products everything from PS1 & PS2 controllers to multitaps to steering wheels. Mad Catz products are less expensive than Sony's, and every bit as good quality. I've *never* had an MC product go bad on me - including the many items I've bought used on auction sites. I don't doubt a bit that the reviews written by users who say that their Mad Catz items were "broken within a week" were sorely abused - probably thrown across the room every time they lost a game. Take care of your stuff, and it will last. Mad Catz makes great products, give 'em a try and you'll see the same.

It's cheeper, and its licensed by Sony. What more could you ask for? I haven't had any problems with it. (In fact, just in the past two weeks the SONY card corrupted my Madden2002 files). So no card is perfect, and this one works just as well as the ones that Sony makes themselves. So, if you're looking to get a new memory card but want to save [money] go for it.

THIS MEMORY CARD IS JUST AS GOOD,
By Tom Quan (FREMONT,CA) - See all my reviews

At first i thought the little i.d. tag was going to be in the way of the slot, but i was wrong. I don't know why people say they have to force it out of the slot, it slides in and out easily for me. I don't get that kid who put it in his PSX :( And here's the BIGGIE it is cheaper and it's a SONY brand too. SO why spend an extra 5 bucks when you can get something just as good?
