I bought this product to play DDR on my PS3. I found some reviews saying it worked fine for DDR. Clearly these people never played it on anything but beginner difficulty. This product does not register more than 1 button being pressed at a time. So any games you play where button combos need to be pressed (such as playing DDR when two arrows come at once) you will be unable to do so. This product is NOT a useful adapter, as I know of very FEW games where you never need to press more than 1 button at a time...

Bought this to be able to have back up controller and it works great. Played all my ps2 games(have 60g and 20g ps3 so i can play old ps2 games).Seems to work fine with all my ps3 games also, just no sixaxis motion control(sometimes not a bad thing).Cheap, easy way to have back up contollers(while ps3 controller is charging) if you already have your old ps2 controllers.Dual shock function works using this also,so a cheap way of having dual shock function. Works with ps2 guitar hero controllers also.

I bought this for my PC because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a wired Xbox 360 Controller or a Wireless Controller Adapter. I plugged it in and Windows automatically detected it and installed the necessary drivers and it worked right away! No need to download extra programs or anything. Just plug n play!

I bought this product to use with Dance Dance Revolution mat. It works great. Would probably buy another to use with a second mat.

Since I have a PS2 DualShock 2 controller, I bought this adapter as a cheap alternative to buying another $50 DualShock 3 wireless controller. Well this adapter does not allow use of the analog sticks. Period. All the buttons work OK and the analog light turns on, but no analog control. I even tried plugging an old original PSOne/PSX game into the PS3 just to make sure it's not the software. Without analog control, which was a *standard feature* with all PS2 titles I might add, I really don't see the point of this adapter. 2 stars

I purchased this item and it came in exactly as appears. I decided to buy it because my friend had old PS2 controllers she was not using, and a converter would allow me to add another player to my PS3 games. Also, for the price I was willing to take the risk.

Most reviews I read initially were saying that the converter stops working after some period of time. I have had it for a month now and it is still working. I should mention that I have not unplugged the controller from the PS3's USB port yet as some people noticed that the converter stopped working when they unplugged it from the system.

Some reviews say that the converter does not allow the analog sticks to be used. That is false. You can use the analog sticks. Just have to press the "Analog" button on the PS2 controller and it will light up and make the sticks available to use.

What I do not recommend is depending on the PS2 controller as your primary controller. There is no way to perform the "home" button action on the PS2 controller and using a PS3 system will become difficult without it.

I recommend this product for PS3 owners that have a PS3 controller and spare PS2 controllers. I have not tried the PS2 controller with Playstation Move yet, but I doubt I will since I do not like using full-controllers with Move games preferring the navigation controller.

i had bought this about 4 months ago and i haven't had any problems with it at all. most of the games i play are fighters so there is no need for sixaxis or the trigger buttons like on a dual shock 3 controller. I wanted another controller so that i when i have guests over i can kick their Arse but buying another ps3 remote would be too much and it seemed like such a waste so buying this seemed like the best bet. thus far it has worked surprisingly well considering its price and has given my old (still in great condition) ps2 controller some good use

minor issue: has a small input lag in comparison to the dual shock 3 in SOME games its hardly noticeable but can throw the timing off some combos and such

bottom line: if u have an old ps2 controller hidden in some closet it is a great buy. whether u only have occasional guests or ur just going cheap on another controller
and it also makes a decent GAMEPAD for some of my emulators as a added bonus

Firstly, the one I received was not the one pictured, which is always a red flag in online shopping. Beyond that, it is nearly worthless in performing its one task of signal conversion. Noticeable input lag, incompatible with most fighter sticks (largely due to no DualShock 2 "analog" button), incapable of translating full velocity analog inputs from DualShock 2 controllers ... this thing is a dud. Only worthwhile if you only plan on using it with a DualShock 2 and you're playing games that require no timing or control imperative, like (some) turn-based RPGs.

If you want something that actually meets the needs of a serious gamer, look for the "iNPiN PS2 to PS3 Converter."
