Don't waste your money,

I found one of these wheels online cheap and figured it would at least be better than using the standard six axis controller. I must say that I was extremely disappointed. I was not expecting this to be a high end racing wheel, but what I got was completely unusable. There is a huge dead spot at center, you have to turn the wheel almost 90 deg before the car in the game even starts to respond. This makes steering difficult to say the least, and minor corrections are impossible.
The games are much easier to control with the six axis. I did give it a chance as I thought that maybe I just needed to get used to the feel of the controller. But, no, this wheel is worse than useless. I think I only paid $20 for mine, and I still overpaid.

I bought this product because of the gas and brake pedals, looking for a more precise control than the standard PS3 control. But the first thing is that the pedals are configured as square and X buttons, not as L2 and R2 as in the standard control, therefore you can't accelerate stepwise as with the standard control. Actually is incredible this configuration, because they have those controls on the steering wheel which work correctly, but is very hard to use them when you are trying to drive, I mean they require to left your hand on the same place. The second bad feature is that the steering wheel is too small. Then because if the bad configuration I returned it. Then I would not recommend this wheel.

We all like to drive fast, that feeling of exhilaration when you stomp on the pedal! Where can you actually drive like this? Video games. Look at the realism created with the high end racing games for PS3. Many of them allow you change the view point which can put you 'on the hood', 'behind' the car, or in the 'drivers seat'. All of which have their own benefits. Using the six-axis for these race games is fun, you can really get into it; but have you tried it with a steering wheel and pedals? It changes everything! All I can say is - WOW!
The Mad Catz model has an adjustable lap brace/leg rest (not pictured-but I'll upload an image soon) that wraps the wheel around part of your legs so the device is not 'free floating'. The size is accurate, as are the pedals, which gives you a greater feeling of realism. The detachable leg rest and mounting hardware are all included, so you can customize the look and feel of your 'drivers seat'. I had a lot of fun when I mounted it to the coffee table. You just gotta try this!
