As the previous reviewer mine died on me after less than 3 days of use. The problem is the 5VDC adapter that comes with it. It died completely and no longer puts out the 5v as checked with a multimeter. Amazon is great as usual about returns and are shipping me a new unit. About the only other solution would be to buy a 5VDC 1800mah power pack of your own to get the unit running again... Other than that the unit looks great and charges relatively fast. The led charge/full indicators are nice. The mood lighting doesn't bother me because it is down low on my entertainment center but if it was up where I could see it it would bother me since the blue led lights up the whole room when its dark and you can't turn it off.

Update:
I just received my replacement unit and it failed as soon as I plugged in the 3rd controller. Upon inspection I noticed that the power supply only provides about 40% of the required amps and pops as soon as it gets overdrawn. I actually heard it pop as I plugged in the 3rd controller. Dreamgear needs to supply the correct power supply for these units. See my picture for the proof.

as the other two reviews before me, the power adapter was fried. For me within 5 mins of use....I walked away and then when I looked the dock was no longer illuminated and the burnt smell was even getting our cat's attention. I did not want to deal being without the charge dock, nor dealing with added waits on returning and possibly receiving ANOTHER faulty power adapter...SO i purchased a replacement at Radio Shack which cost me $32. So whatever Amazon charges for this item, add another $32 if you want it to actually work. Now with the new one from radio shack the dock works like a dream and keeps all 4 of my controllers charged. Handy when wanting to play a 4 player game with 3 friends.

Sent the first one back because it shorted right away. Got the replacement, and just like the other reviewers stated, it fried too. Crap product, I would advise to amazon to remove from their product list.

I read the other reviews on the adapter burning out after a short amount of time and I decided to take the chance anyway after seeing that most of those were made years ago and the seller has since noted that they had fixed the problem. I immediately plugged it in and all 4 controllers. It worked like it should have and Iver had it for 3 months now. There was once where on port wasn't charging and it had scared me for a second but i just unplugged it, counted to 10 one thousand and plugged it back in and viola!

I thought I would take the chance after reading some of the other reviews concerning the power supply. The Quad Dock has been in constant use and plugged in since 25 DEC 09 with no issues. I wouldn't hesitate to by this...the price can't be beat for what you are getting.

This charging dock does what it is supposed to do, it charges 4 PS3 controllers simultaneously. I tested it out with 4 PS3 Dual Shock Controllers. As with all charging docks, a little wiggling / figiting is required to line up the male mini USB charging port on the dock with the female mini USB charging port on the controller. I must note that it is very easy to set the controllers on the dock and took about 2-4 seconds to set each one.

I charged 4 controllers at once. 2 of the controllers I charged were fully drained, one was about half drained, and the other was about a quarter drained. When you set a controller on the dock, it lights up its corresponding LED light on the face of the unit. The 4 LEDs will be red while charging and then turn blue when the coresponding controller in the dock fully charged. In addition, if any controller on the dock is not fully charged and is charging, a red LED strip at the base of the unit lights up, once all of the controllers in the dock have fully charged, the red LED base light turns off leaving only the small LED lights on which will be blue as all the controllers in the dock are charged.

One thing I thought was strange is how the 4 LEDs on the face of the unit correspond to the 4 controllers in the dock. It is the exact opposite of what I thought it would be. The controller in the front slot on the dock lights up the LED on the far right of the face of the unit and the controller in the back slot on the dock lights up the LED on the far left of the face of the unit.

It should be noted that while a controller is connected to the dock, pushing the PS button on the controller will not turn on the PS3 system.

I love the sleek and compact design and think the LED base light is a nice colorful touch.

I ordered the PS3 Quad Dock from Amazon.com. When I received it I immediately plugged it in and attached all four of my PS3 controllers which all started charging as you would expect. Not 5 minutes later I looked at the charger and noticed all of the lights were out and my controllers were not charging.

I tried different outlets, removing controllers and reattaching, all to no avail.

This is being returned for a refund which is too bad, because I have been looking for a four controller charger ever since the Nyko became unavailable.

The power supply stopped working after 10 seconds, it made a short sound and smelled like burned. Don't buy this product. Terrible quality. Nice packaging but the quality of the device is cheap. I was scared that it had burned the controllers I plug to it, when I was testing it. But lucky that did not happen.
Avoid this product if you can.

I purchased the dock and it worked well at first. I received an email stating that they were sending me a replacement adaptor because the one sent to me was faulty. A few days later the dock died. I have sent two email asking about the adaptor. They have put me off for over 6 weeks now. I will be requesting a refund.
