5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price for 3 Amazing Games December 5, 2012
Format:Video Game
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've played the entire Resistance Trilogy and have not been disappointed at all. These are some of the 3-Best games for the Playstation 3.
I'll start my review discussing the 3 Games Separately and will strictly discuss the Campaign portions of the games, as I believe that the Multiplayer aspect will change depending on how each of you perceives it (good or bad).

Resistance: Fall of Man
The first game in any trilogy should be able to set the tone for how the rest of the games will be played. It should also create a solid and complete opening story to draw the gamers into the world. This game has done that and more! The first Resistance sets the tone which is continued throughout the trilogy. It also gives a very solid story line which does not break or seem incomplete in any way.

Resistance 2
The second game in this trilogy keeps the tone and mood going. It has an enhanced story line that picks up where the first Resistance leaves off, and continues to a great (yet somewhat sad) ending. By far, the 2nd Resistance is the best in the trilogy.

Resistance 3
(Trying not to spoil the game), The 3rd Resistance starts out with a new main character who you play as the entire game. The story line in this game seems slightly askew from the other games, but then again it takes place much later than the previous 2 games. As the final game in the trilogy, I do not feel as though it made a good solid end; however, the story in itself was very good.

Since Insomiac's contract with Sony has ended and there are no talks about renewing it does not seem as though there will be another Resistance game (or at least one made by Insomiac).

4.0 out of 5 stars Resistance (3) Pack August 2, 2013
Format:Video Game|Verified Purchase
I received this game a week ago and I am still on the first campaign. I have to say I’m very pleased with my purchase. The game moves fast and is pretty challenging very cool graphics. I am actually excited to a have full evening of game night. I would recommend this game. Note, I am over 40, (yes I am an older gamer), lol, so this game might be a piece of cake for the younger full time gamers but for my age bracket and older, being a full time worker and a part time gamer, thumbs up from me….

3.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware: You are getting 1/2 of 3 games now! April 10, 2014
Format:Video Game
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
All of the Resistance games together tell a great story, however you will only be able to experience 1/2 of the equation.

As of this week, Sony shut down the online servers for all 3 Resistance games, meaning:
- You cannot access online multiplayer for any of the titles
- All the associated trophies for online multiplayer are unobtainable, meaning the Platinum for Resistance 1, 2 and 3 are now no longer obtainable.

If you're good with having the single player campaigns only (which clock in at about 8-15 hours each), even then I would not pay the $35 being asked (FOR SURE) and even the $25 I have seen on the Warehouse Deals.

So Buyer BEWARE...you are NOT getting 3 full games. You're getting 3 full single player campaigns and no multiplayer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price for 3 great games! March 7, 2013
Format:Video Game
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I never played these games before so I jumped on this deal! I tried the demos and didn't like them that much... but after actually playing the games from start to finish im glad I gave them a chance! If you love shooters then this game is for you! The story is interesting, showing an alternative timeline where Earth gets invaded by Aliens in the late 40's. The weapons are also very unique and a blast to use! All three games also have a co-op mode which I believe has a separate campaign for the 2 sequels. There are also online modes but the first two games have pretty much empty servers and the third game usually only has a server or 2 filled with a couple dozen people. If you have a PS3 and want to try a shooter that has unique weapons and story then this exclusive 3 pack is well worth the $40.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better then expected. November 20, 2013

This game is awesome. I love being able to get all 3 games for a low price. The split-screen feature for coop is great. The action and characters really enhance the game, along with the story line. My kids love to watch me and my wife play and listening to the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Seriously FUN Series of Games February 4, 2015
Format:Video Game|Verified Purchase
This trilogy of first-person shooter games was unique in that it managed to keep so many facets of the later installments fresh and workable while also maintaining a storyline that didn't get stale. Also, even enemies advance in difficulty/tactics when you see them in Parts 2 and 3.

The settings, weaponry, application of weapons, introduction of new tools made it entertaining as well as keeping the action interesting. As I mentioned before, the overall storyline also doesn't lag, as the main characters are going through their ever-advancing arcs. The settings are kept interesting to the player even if (through all 3 games) you always follow the path the game and story lead you on. In other words, this isn't a wide open "Fallout-style" game world. The best general compliment I can pay these games, is that I have played through each one several times and still tremendously enjoy them.

About the games themselves:

Resistance 1 follows the exploits of US Army Sergeant Nathan Hale, who becomes a legendary one-man wrecking crew when a little-understood lifeform known as the "Chimera" emerge from the rural steppes of northern Russia bulldozing Europe as well as England. This game takes place exclusively in England in 1951 and with the weaponry and machinery, engages in limited-enough revisionist history, that it's easily acceptable. The weaponry you amass makes for a fun strategizing exercise in how best to combat or ambush enemies. My only point of contention for this game, is that in the assortment of guns you build up (at least 10 of them), you have to cycle through each one to reach which ever particular gun you wish to use, which can get tedious.

can't stand the controls... the game play is kind of lame... and the story is so-so. This got "RAVE" reviews from the PS3 community, but I rank it up there with the Halo... Read more
