5.0 out of 5 stars Another great "Classic" by Jim Marrs - You want this book !
As usual, Jim Marrs has given us another classic. Whether you are interested in government conspiracy, aliens, ufo's or any other mystery of the new millennium Jim Marrs has the FACTS. 2.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Marrs Fan.....But not on this one.
This is an interesting topic but I just didn't think it hit the mark. Marrs has always delivered with his books such as: Crossfire, Alien Agenda, and Rule by Secrecy. However, I found it difficult to stay interested. In any case, if the topic interests you maybe this book is for you but I think his best work was already done.

As usual, Jim Marrs has given us another classic. Whether you are interested in government conspiracy, aliens, ufo's or any other mystery of the new millennium Jim Marrs has the FACTS. Being an investigative reporter and not simply an author Jim doesn't just write about a subject, he documents it and explains it with all the detail and clarity of the expert that he is. I have read everything by Marrs and I can say this, after being in police work for the last twenty-five years, the last twelve as Chief of Detectives, Marrs does his homework. He is the most thorough and comprehensive author of esoteric and controversial subject matter writing on the subject today. If after reading any of his books, the hair on the back of your neck doesn't stand up, you must be reading the another book that slipped into a Jim Marrs book jacket. When I first started reading his work, like most people interested in the subjects (At least most police officers) I dug a little further. His facts and his research stand up to the scrutiny. I had the fortunate experience to become involved with a few of the military remote viewers when the Stargate project became public. I had taken the training and (once again the skeptic that I am) experienced it for myself. I heard some of the same stories, anecdotes and information that Marrs details in "PSI SPIES." I cannot recommend his work with any higher regard. He is a master at the craft of writing and an expert researcher. There are other books written about the Psychic Spying program that the Government ran, Marrs tells the story from the inside out --- He is by far the most knowledgeable person on the subject matter that wasn't actually a military remote viewer himself. BUY THIS BOOK!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not As Meaty As Marrs Other Work, But ..., November 28, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PSI Spies (Paperback)
Jim Marrs is a cottage industry when it comes to conspiracy writings.

He has dealt with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He has explored the behind-the-scenes histories and tinkerings of secret societies in their collective bid to control the fate of the planet. He has even given one fine comprehensive examination to the entire UFO phenomenon that will probably go unmatched in the history of UFO books.

In PSI SPIES, he deals with exposing the United States government's covert use of psychic powers (largely remote viewing) in the exploration of handling foreign affairs. While it's not a truly great book (I thought it lacked some of the depth of his other tomes, and that's largely due to the scraps of true facts and research available on the subject), it is still one fine piece of investigative journalism.

It's an important read if for no other reason for the reader to understand -- through the eyes of one of the book's principals -- to what extend a government is willing to reach ... and then attempt everything possible to cover it up in the end.

Incidentally, the book probably would've been far more in depth had the US Government not gone to attempting to keep it unpublished. Marrs has a way of tilting the scales in the direction of truth, so much so that he disturbs those secretly in power, and his books do rattle you to the bones in several places.

A must-read for conspiracy fans. A must-read for fans of the occult, in fact. And, a must-read for any person seriously interested in knowing the tentacles which clandestine operations try to grasp control of our very lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Revealing Story, March 20, 2002

If you have ever had any doubts about the U.S. Government's use, and continued use, of intelligence gathering techniques that are officially discredited and disparaged, then read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A convincing book about remote-viewing, November 8, 2002
This review is from: PSI Spies (Paperback)
Psi Spies is a short and get-to-the-point book introducing the reader to the topic of remote-viewing. The author's approach is to first prepare the reader with the history of the development of scientific studies of psychic ability in Russia and the U.S., and to show that there is much validity in "psi". From there, he shows how the government, particularly the military, became interested in the use of psychic ability through the technique of remote viewing for use in spying.

The importance of Marrs' book is that he covers all this territory with an extensive array of peoples' names, dates, agency names, and places. He is very thorough in this investigation which, in a subject such as this, is necessary to overcome the reader's skepticism. Having read "Alien Agenda" by Marrs, and having heard him speak several times in radio interviews, I highly respect his intelligence and his analysis of enigmatic topics, and this book is no exception.

In this book, Marrs does not present many examples of what the remote viewers, or psi spies, "saw" in their journeys into the psi dimension, his is a more analytical approach to the topic. For first-hand accounts by psi spies themselves, I highly recommend these two fascinating books: Mind Trek, by Joseph McMoneagle, and Psychic Warrior, by David Morehouse. If Marrs has convinced you that remote reviewing is "real", what those two remote viewers have "seen" will blow you away.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book, but not GREAT., February 16, 2005

Jim Marrs is a great author. I was expecting more from this book than what it delivered. It was interesting, but not as detailed as I would of liked it to be. It was easy and fun to read. But it left me hungry for more. I wish that he would of enclosed more specific stories of some the Remote Viewing sessions than he did, rather than do on about how the politics of the government eventually destroyed the organization. But it is a great first book on Remote Viewing, and it is also a great additional book to a Remote Viewing collection. But if you want some adventure and stories about the actual Experiences I would recommend a different book. Like "Time Trek".

2.0 out of 5 stars interesting synopsis, February 27, 2007
This review is from: PSI Spies (Paperback)
I have this book and Jim Mars is a very interesting speaker, but the book left out a lot and timelines were way off. It seems only to be from the viewpoint of Ingo Swann, no real information about the military remote viewing programs.
