This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
Many of the words used in the other reviews such as "phenomenal" and "mind-blowing" are truly valid in describing this book. As someone who has always been interested in the paranormal (esp. ghosts, ESP and precognition) I have always felt there must be some scientific basis for people's experiences that we just don't understand yet. The author explains quantum physics in a way that makes it understandable, yet opens all kinds of possibilities to chew on. I found the concepts of multi-universes and her explaining the Zero Point Field that is all around us as an infinite source of energy and "vibrations" fascinating. The ideas of quantum physics are so interesting and the author makes a basic explanation of it very readable. I have no physics backround at all and was able to follow her presentation of various aspects q.p. I found her applicaton of theories to different "unexplainable" phenomena fascinating, and would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the paranormal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for anyone interested in the paranormal, March 6, 2007
This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
Countless books have been written on the subjects of UFOs; ghosts; poltergeist activity; ESP; remote-viewing; Bigfoot; Mothman; and more. But few have attempted the daunting task of trying to make some collective sense of these (and numerous other) mysteries of this world and beyond.
Marie Jones, however, has taken that step and has come up with a fascinating and expertly-written book that offers an ingenious, thought-provoking, and wholly plausible theory to explain the presence in our world of the aforementioned oddities.
If you are a well-read student of such issues, someone with merely a passing interest in the world of the unknown, or completely new to the issues at hand, you will not be disappointed.
Written with clarity, humor, and an easy to understand style, PSIence is a book that you definitely need to read if you want to learn about the groundbreaking discoveries in the field of quantum physics, and the way in which those same discoveries may finally be able to throw some much-needed light on those shadowy realms, and strange creatures that (from time to time, at least!) seemingly co-exist with us.
I look forward to Marie Jones' next book; and so should you, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paranormal Phenomena easily explained, November 2, 2006
This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
Ms. Jones' new book PSIENCE explains new discoveries in quantum physics and how that relates to paranormal phenomena in an easy to understand language. I found this book to be a fascinating read. I had been looking for a good book to cover a lot of the questions that I have about this phenomena, Ms. Jones really knows her stuff. She makes the material exceptionally reader friendly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who questions paranormal phenomena and wants to know the real truth.

Marie D. Jones has done a phenomenal job of explaining complex concepts in a way anyone can grasp them. Filled with solid research, exciting theories, and even a sense of fun, this book is a primer for anyone interested in the cutting edge world of the quantum and how it relates to the world we see and experience around us, including the deep connection between we, the observer, and what we see as our "reality." A must-read for expanding minds.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mysteries Magazine review, October 28, 2007
This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
It is rare to discover a book that dares to bridge the gap between physics and the paranormal. However, in PSIence, the author does just that.

Although a field investigator for the Mutual UFO?Network (MUFON), author Marie D. Jones makes no claims of being a scientist professional ghost-hunter, vampire stalker, or exorcist. Rather, she comfortably occupies the zone between the two, offering us insights into the wondrous world of everything from the blood-sucking Chupacabra, poltergeists, the vortices as found within the Bermuda Triangle, and worm holes, as well as membrane universes, and string theory. While many would balk at such an unlikely synthesis of fringe realms and the more acceptable avenues of physics, one gets the impression that Jones is willing to take the chance and seems to be free of indoctrination from either camp, considering the wonderful sense of humor and her ability to articulate arcane concepts. Jones brings forth the possibility that the existence of UFOs, spectral entities, precognition, and telekinesis may very well be signaling us to pay close attention to the alterations in the space-time fabric we call reality. Indirectly, she also suggests that perhaps these phenomena persist to further acclimate ourselves to the idea of multidimensional perception, and parallel universes.

What makes PSIence so exciting is that the phenomena described seem to all lead to the Zero Point Field (the lowest energy point of a field in quantum terms), something that can only be grasped with a well-developed intuition. Perhaps the empirical and objective mainstream scientists--as well as goblins and ghouls--function as a kind of police force for globalist power-mongers to ward off those who have the potential to fully comprehend and visualize the Zero Point Field as something pragmatic and not forever relegated to the nebulous realm of theory.

If enough people read PSIence, the critical mass required to shift the consciousness of the planet may be reached, before we are hit with an enviromental and economic disaster that is triggered by our ignorance of how free energy can be generated by Zero Point physics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghosts Explained by Science?, September 4, 2007
This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
Two hundred years ago, if you had stopped someone on the streets of New York and told him you heard music coming through the air, he would have had you hauled off to the loony bin. Today, we all know that music does, indeed, come through the air and it comes to us on what we call radio waves. This is only one example of science finally catching up with and explaining what seemed like a paranormal (beyond normal) experience. It is likely that science will also eventually be able to explain ghosts, UFOs, ESP, and other paranormal oddities as "normal."

This is the premise behind Marie D. Jones' intriguing book, PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena. Jones, a lifelong student, researcher, and investigator of metaphysics and the paranormal, takes the reader on an incredible voyage into the world of quantum physics. She speculates not merely that science may be able to someday prove the existence of ghosts, aliens, time travel, mysterious disappearances as in the Bermuda Triangle, and other paranormal phenomena, but that it may have already done so!

Jones takes the reader on a dizzying ride through theories of multiple universes, hidden dimensions, energy fields, superstrings, Zero Point Field, wormholes, and time warps, to name just a few. She supports her ideas with the research of such eminent scientists and thinkers as Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, William Roll, J.B. Rhine, Werner Heisenberg, and Erwin Schrodinger. Although sections of the book may warrant a second reading in order to better grasp their implications, for the most part Jones cuts through the hieroglyphics of quantum physics and new science, distilling it down to an essence that can be understood by the average reader.

The ramifications of the theories presented in PSIence are incredible. If these theories can be proven true, then everything we thought we knew about existence, everything we thought we knew about the nature of the universe is stood upon its head. With such potential, why wouldn't everyone read this book?

PSIence is an invaluable addition to the library of anyone interested in the paranormal; I strongly recommend it.

This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
This book is at best irresponsible and at worst exploitative. As someone who really enjoys the subject of the paranormal (when its pragmatic and treated seriously eg: The Witch in the Waiting Room), I find there is a lot of junk out there of people trying to make a quick buck with flimsy material on the poplular subjects of ufo's ghosts etc.

I don't doubt that the author has a lifelong and somewhat serious interest in the paranormal from her statements. So I am leary to call this downright exploitative trash. But on the other hand the author seems willing to accept every paranormal event and every far out exlanation. I am surprised she didnt start talking about the easter bunny as a dimensional traveler.

Maybe if she didn't spread it so thin and try to cover so much this may have been good. Perhaps if she didnt include phenomenon that has been debunked frequently (ie: the bermuda triangle which she keeps coming back to including flight 19 of which the remains were found)and instead concentrate on those that baffle the skeptics (Fatima, widespread abduction phenomena, etc) this book may have been worthwhile.

On the science end she starts out fairly decent with a history of quantum physics but again tries to use every theory from the other worlds theory (which I think may be true) to supposed current anti gravity devices and time storms to cover all sorts of paranormal events.

From the books I have read so far there seem to be two camps on the paranormal: one is the "out there" camp and the other is the "inside here" camp. The inside camp sees it all as an aspect of consciousness, perhaps a higher level (wouldn't an advanced civilization find it easier to travel by mind than space ship?) . Examples of this are Carl Jung for one. The author here seems to prefer somewhat the possibility that its all external, like Budd Hopkins. To me this doesnt make sense. Why would an advanced civilization travel light years with any technology when it may be easier to travese space time through the conciousness plane? Of course the latter is purely theoretical but makes more sense. Even bigfoot could be explained as a collective concsiousness projection of the human nature barrier. But a projection that could be as real as real.

Hopefully there are better books out there that manage to critique their theories and evidence , rather than give cart blanche to them all.

I found Ms. Jones' book to be a wonderfully informative and fun read! In her book you can clearly see that she is an avid attentive reader, and it really helps brings these ideas weight. She also has a lot of fun with the writing to make it her own! This not only helps bring the material to life, but also makes it accessible to everybody. She deals with many difficult topics, none more so than attempting to bridge the illusory gap between Western Science and other ideas, and spectacularly succeeds.
If you are a curious person, like the author, I highly recommend this great read!

Ms. Jones has succeded in bringing together new developments in quantum physics, the science of consciousness, and the paranormal. Her writing style makes the subject matter immensely readable, palatable, and occasionally downright enjoyable. I had the benefit of access to a review copy of the book but have ordered a copy of the final version for my personal library. Well done Ms. Jones!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind-blowing stuff!, December 16, 2006
This review is from: PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena (Paperback)
I've always walked the fine line between the normal and paranormal, the worlds of science and spirituality, and always felt the two were worlds apart. In her mind-blowing book "PSIence," astute author Marie Jones, brings the two worlds together seamlessly and creates a new one of consciousness. This is a book to read over and over, and discuss with friends from both worlds. To know that people working in both realities--like Jones--are moving us to a place where we will one day understand for certain the explanations for the unexplainable, makes me hope it will be soon. Thanks for making this happen sooner.
